The Pyrometallurgical Lead will lead the design and optimization of pyrometallurgical processes for spodumene concentrate conversion to lithium chemicals (lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate) projects. This role is based in Vancouver/Delta, BC. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide technical leadership during feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning, and ramp-up.</li><li>Oversee selection, sizing, and operation of kilns, calciners, and associated equipment and owning the vendor relationship.</li><li>Conduct lab-scale and pilot-scale test work for process development.</li><li>Develop and validate mass and energy balances, heat transfer models, and process flow diagrams (PFDs/P&amp;IDs).</li><li>Analyze process data to improve efficiency, recovery, and energy consumption.</li><li>Support integration between pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical plant sections.</li><li>Drive process efficiency improvements, including energy consumption reduction and heat recovery systems.</li><li>Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development.</li></ul> Qualifications &amp; Experience <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or a related field)</li><li>7-10 years of experience in pyrometallurgy, preferably in lithium processing.</li><li>Registered Professional Engineer within Canada/US, or the ability to readily become one.</li><li>Experience with designing complex metallurgical flowsheets for pyrometallurgical operations, such as crushing, preheating, calcining, milling, mixing, roasting, process off-gas treatment, and material handling.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.</li><li>Familiarity with process simulation software (SysCAD, Aspen) would be an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of acid plants and electrochemical plants would be an asset.</li></ul> Why Mangrove?At Mangrove Lithium, our people are at the core of our groundbreaking technology.
