<h2>The Role</h2>You will own the power and energy subsystem for our edge devices, including battery management, PMIC rail distribution and overall power budgeting. This is a hands-on individual contributor role at a small company. You will take designs from schematic to bench to field. <h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Design the energy harvesting subsystem, battery control for Li-Ion pack, and the power distribution system</li><li>Select PMICs, DC-DC converters, and LDOs for downstream rails; manage sequencing</li><li>Own power budgeting across all operating modes and validate on the bench</li><li>Create PCB layout for power sections; support contract manufacturing hand-off with DFM documentation</li><li>Board bring-up and troubleshooting</li><li>Execute environmental validation (temperature, thermal endurance, transient immunity)</li><li>Bring advanced low-power system design to our edge device</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>3+ years in power electronics with at least one product shipped to production</li><li>Experience with battery management ICs, charger topologies, and cell protection circuits</li><li>Proficiency in SMPS design (buck, boost, buck-boost) and simulation in LTspice or equivalent</li><li>Bench skills: oscilloscope, power analyzer, electronic load</li><li>Ability to create, and read schematics and PCB layouts</li></ul> <h2>Nice to Have</h2><ul><li>Power quality analysis</li><li>Basic understanding of overcurrent protection, reclosers, and fault current</li><li>Current transformers</li></ul>
