The role of the Senior Civil Engineer is to coordinate and evaluate all tasks and designs related to geotechnical, hydrological, civil, structural aspects of projects in various stages of development, execution, and operations to various business units within the organization. Support to engineering manager and managing junior to medium level engineers and draughtsman.Main Responsibilities Support to Development Phase<ul> <li>Lead the geological, topographical, and hydrological due diligence tasks</li> <li>Lead review of hydrological, geotechnical, structural and roads risks at development phase</li> <li>Lead the calculation of civil quantities for the bill of quantities</li> <li>Identify country specific Civil risks and constraints</li> <li>Presence on site during development phase to compile site specific checklists/presentations and decide scope of work</li> <li>Supervision of Pull-out tests during development or structuring phase</li></ul>Support to Structuring Phase of projects<ul> <li>Conduct due diligence investigations on civil related packages to ensure risks and opportunities are identified to be implemented in the detail design</li> <li>Support Supply Chain Management on compilation and evaluation of RFP documents (technical specifications and bill of quantities), then lead engagement with suppliers to clarity the responses</li> <li>Support Execution Team with planning and alignment of technical aspects of the project</li> <li>Ensure that all civil design information identified throughout the structuring phase is implemented in the detail designs</li> <li>Supervision of Pull-out tests during development or structuring phase</li></ul>Manage in Country Civil Engineering Supervisors and Junior Engineers<ul> <li>Support technical growth of site and junior engineers</li> <li>Conduct internal technical discussion to transfer skills to the Civil Team</li></ul>Operating System<ul> <li>Follow the guidelines and prescribed structures as outlined by the operating system</li> <li>Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the operating system</li></ul>Support to projects in delivery/execution<ul> <li>Ensure detailed engineering is implemented from the design stage with quality control and assurance documents</li> <li>Review design change request or proposals in the event of deviations</li> <li>Support in project close out phase towards TTO</li></ul> Qualifications And Competencies<ul> <li>Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Structural)</li> <li>6+ years civil engineering experience</li> <li>2+ years Solar and Wind energy experience</li> <li>Design management of complex Civil infrastructure (foundations and reinforced concrete structures)</li> <li>Sound knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge</li> <li>Sound knowledge of Rocscience/SAP2000 (or similar numerical modelling software)</li> <li>Sound knowledge of GIS software</li> <li>Understanding of Resident Engineer management of complex Infrastructure projects</li> <li>Language: fluent both written and spoken in English and Romanian</li> <li>Specialist knowledge of two of the following: (Geotechnical, Structural or Roads/Pavement engineering)</li> <li>Itasca/Prokon knowledge (or equivalent numerical and stress deformation analysis)</li> <li>Strong analytical ability and calculation acumen</li> <li>Capability to use numerical modelling and stress deformation software</li> <li>Ability to optimise solutions strategically and analytically, to reduce execution cost and time</li> <li>Understanding of site studies and technical design drivers to facilitate continuous improvement on related processes affecting civil engineering</li> <li>Foundation design/Geotechnical Investigations or hydrological modelling/ drainage design experience</li> <li>Roads/pavement or Structural design analysis and bending schedules</li></ul>Ideal:<ul> <li>Hydroelectric Power experience</li> <li>Offshore structural/geotechnical design</li> <li>Floating PV/ marine design experience</li> <li>Friction and end bearing Pile design experience</li> <li>Culvert sizing and Channel design</li> <li>Slope stability and Retaining wall design</li></ul>Personal characteristics It is part of every employee’s term of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhering to our company values which are:- Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, share information in an open and honest way- Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritize and work independently- Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust- Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitudeWe offer Scatec is an exciting, innovative, and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
