<h2>Overview</h2><p>The Quality Supervisor is responsible for executing plant and corporate Food Safety and Quality programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company standards within ESL and aseptic beverage manufacturing operations. This role provides technical quality leadership to production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, oversees laboratory and quality systems, and ensures adherence to GMP, HACCP, GLP, GDP, and food safety programs. The Quality Supervisor also supports data management, environmental monitoring programs (EMP), root cause investigations, and operational excellence across the facility.</p><p> </p><p>This is a night shift role, working 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Execute plant quality and food safety initiatives to ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications within Extended Shelf Life and aseptic manufacturing environments.</li> <li>Oversee and enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, GLP, GDP, Food Safety Plans, sanitation standards, and SOPs throughout all production and support areas.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance and real-time quality support to production floor personnel, assisting with troubleshooting, process deviations, product evaluations, and corrective actions.</li> <li>Support Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP), including environmental sampling activities, trend analysis, corrective actions, and verification of sanitation effectiveness.</li> <li>Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and ensure integrity of quality records, production logs, laboratory results, and compliance reports through effective data management practices.</li> <li>Conduct internal audits, verify HACCP documentation, and support regulatory, customer, and third-party audits to ensure ongoing plant compliance.</li> <li>Supervise laboratory personnel through direct leadership responsibilities while coordinating quality oversight activities across all production shifts.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve plant efficiency, product quality, food safety, and operational performance.</li> <li>Investigate quality incidents, consumer complaints, environmental findings, and process deviations; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).</li> <li>Monitor quality KPIs and plant performance metrics, communicating trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership.</li> <li>Ensure all laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and monitoring devices are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning according to established standards.</li> <li>Support training and development of plant personnel on food safety, quality systems, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.</li> <li>Promote a strong food safety and quality culture by reinforcing accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to established standards and procedures.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by supporting safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and proper use of PPE and company equipment.</li> <li>Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management to foster collaboration and operational success.</li> <li>Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support plant quality, food safety, and business objectives.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience</li> <li>Minimum of 4 years of quality assurance experience within food and/or beverage manufacturing or a similar regulated environment</li> <li>Prior experience directly supervising or leading employees</li> <li>Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, GLP, GDP, environmental monitoring, and food safety regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, SQF, or GFSI standards)</li> <li>Experience with quality systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and audit processes (internal, regulatory, or third-party)</li> <li>BPCS certification preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with production, sanitation, maintenance, and leadership teams</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate expectations, feedback, and technical information</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with quality data systems or manufacturing systems a plus</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities</li> <li>Ability to read, write, and speak English</li> <li>Physical requirements: ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/move up to 50 pounds</li> <li>Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate, ratio, and percentage)</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p>The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year based on a full-time schedule.  Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual salary. As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to enroll in Califia’s employee benefits program.
