As an R&amp;D Engineer (Failure Analysis Engineer/Specialist), you will be part of the Technology Development Department-Failure Analysis team, focusing on the design and development of failure analysis systems, testing, characterization, and scaling of key components of Mangrove’s technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of anion exchange membrane (AEM) evaluation, as well as a strong foundation in electrochemical principles, devices, and processes. The role requires a diverse, well-rounded technical and entrepreneurial skill set. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, highly motivated team, with ample potential for growth and career advancement. It also provides an exciting entry point into the rapidly growing lithium-ion battery sector.  Required Education, Skills and Experience <ul><li>BSc or MSc in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science/engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields. </li></ul><ul><li>3+ years industrial experience in anion exchange membranes evaluations and failure analysis.  </li></ul><ul><li>Hands on experience in the anion exchange membranes (AEMs) testing, analysis, and electrochemical characterizations. </li></ul><ul><li>Utilize statistical design of experiments to optimize resource use and enhance data quality. Analyze results through thorough and rigorous statistical methods. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in the materials characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM, EDX, AFM, FTIR, …).  </li></ul><ul><li>Experienced on identifying anion exchange membranes (AEMs) failure mechanisms in electrochemical processes. Experience dealing with developing or conducting tests using accelerated degradation protocols. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in impedance spectroscopy, potentiostatic and galvanostatic testing and durability testing of electrochemical components. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in electrolyzer/fuel cell testing and optimization toward performance and durability improvement </li></ul><ul><li>Experience working in R&amp;D and product development environments. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving and communications skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to interact with a wide range of scientists and engineers. </li></ul>  Salary range for this position will be $80 - $100k depending on experience and skills.  Desirable Characteristics <ul><li>Experience on the development of mathematical models to predict and understand the performance of materials will be an asset. </li></ul><ul><li>Person of high integrity and credibility. </li></ul><ul><li>Solid understanding of design of experiments and statistical analysis of data. </li></ul><ul><li>Self-motivated, flexible and passionate about learning. </li></ul><ul><li>Work well under pressure. </li></ul> Why Mangrove?At Mangrove Lithium, our people are at the core of our groundbreaking technology.
