About this opportunityThe role of Account Manager is a senior role within the sales team and is responsible for both directly and indirectly managing a specified customer base and has accountability for delivering new volume, new concepts, and new markets to the business. The customer base in question is from FMCG to Industrial and includes customers with a Gross TO ranging in size from $5K to more than $6Million annually.If you have a solid sales background, especially in managing corporate FMCG accounts, possess technical expertise, and excel in presentations, this role is your opportunity to shine and make a significant impact. Some travel will be required.Your key responsibilities will be to:<ul><li>Drive the achievement of gross sales and gross contribution targets through strategic planning and effective execution.</li><li>Implement and maintain a Key Account Strategy and Process, ensuring strong relationships and tailored strategic plans for the top 10 accounts.</li><li>Conduct accurate forecasting to ensure revenue variance within 5% on a weekly basis and precise margin forecasting.</li><li>Regularly conduct business reviews (quarterly for top accounts) and prepare comprehensive reports including monthly revenue, margin, project, inventory, travel, and debtors reports.</li><li>Handle contract negotiations, statements of work, and manage contracts to ensure compliance and optimal terms.</li><li>Maintain a comprehensive understanding of price indices, manage pricing strategies, and address price variances and anomalies.</li><li>Oversee customer relationships, manage customer feedback surveys, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.</li><li>Identify and convert new customers and markets, maximize volume opportunities from existing customers, and manage product development opportunities.</li><li>Lead the preparation and submission of tenders and requests for proposals RFPs, ensuring competitive and compelling bids.</li><li>Actively contributes to the development of the overall sales strategic plan and generate annual budgets, account plans, and support company and team culture.</li></ul>Your skills and experience:To be successful in this role, you’ll have:<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years sales experience.</li><li>Good financial skills (pricing, variable costs, gross margins)</li><li>Experience managing large corporate accounts.</li><li>Industry knowledge in packaging, FMCG, manufacturing, or technical environments (BOMs and cost drivers highly regarded).</li><li>Proven track record in new business development and successful conversions.</li><li>Skilled in contract negotiation and pricing strategies.</li><li>Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.</li><li>Strong decision-making and commercial judgement.</li><li>Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.</li><li>Experience with capital return calculations and integrating returns into pricing.</li><li>Numerically savvy, able to manage price indexes and evaluate new opportunities.</li></ul>
