To assure maintenance services for a fixed industrial water treatment and waste processing facility meet expected process availability, and to provide mechanical oversight for construction activities associated with capital works projects. This is a unionized position.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Be an active participant in GFL’s Environmental, Health &amp; Safety Program.</li><li>Comply with Corporate and regulatory policies and procedures. </li><li>Install, repair, dismantle, align equipment not limited to pumps, plate and frame filter press, air compressor &amp; dryer, air stripper for VOC removal, air scrubber, baghouse, mechanical rake drive, mixing agitators, tanks and associated piping/valves, electrical and automated systems, mobile equipment utilizing hand and power tools. </li><li>Inspect and analyze all equipment to detect anomalies and malfunctions. </li><li>Schedule, lead, and assist third party mechanical and repair services-project management.  </li><li>Ensure that all repairs comply with government standards for specified equipment such as process pumps, plate &amp; frame filter press, steam boiler, compressor, rake drives, agitators, forklifts, and diesel engines.  </li><li>Assist in the completion of all required safety and preventative maintenance inspections. </li><li>Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments for non-routine maintenance, repairs, installations, and retrofits. </li><li>Maintain web-based Preventative Maintenance program. </li><li>Retain critical spare parts inventory.</li><li>Assist with other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Key Competencies:<ul><li> Previous maintenance experience in an industrial environment is preferred. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  </li><li>3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role. </li><li>Previous knowledge of heavy equipment, process equipment, pumps, valves etc. is required. </li><li>Experience and knowledge with industrial 240/600V, 4-20 milliamp electrical systems. </li><li>Experience and knowledge with PLC systems. </li><li>Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, and manuals to determine best practices and work procedures. </li><li>Forward thinker, ability to troubleshoot and recognize anomalies.</li><li>Experience completing preventative maintenance inspections and software’s.</li><li>Experienced in welding techniques (MIG, Acetylene, Stick, and Plasma). </li><li>Experienced in managing 3rd party service providers.</li><li>Comfortable working in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). </li><li>Valid G license and acceptable driver abstract. </li><li>Must be able to wear a respirator as required.  </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  </li></ul> Working ConditionsThis position will operate primarily on day shift (7am-3pm) in an industrial setting that operates 24 hours per day, 5 days per week. You may be required to work additional hours and/or outside of regular scheduled hours to meet customer requirements.
