As a Mechanical Refrigeration Engineer, you will be a key player in designing and developing innovative industrial refrigeration and heat pump solutions for global clients. Working within a collaborative project team, you will contribute to sustainable, value-engineered projects that balance technical excellence with budgetary and time constraints. If you’re passionate about advancing refrigeration technology, optimizing processes, and working on global projects, this role is for you.Responsibilities / Tasks<ul><li>Engineer customized and standardized refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with CE-PED requirements and customer specifications.</li><li>Lead mechanical engineering efforts on projects, guiding junior engineers and hired professionals where needed.</li><li>Collaborate with project teams including CAD, automation, and electrical engineers to deliver high-quality refrigeration designs that meet international and local regulations.</li><li>Conduct risk analysis and prepare detailed documentation for HAZOP and QHSE.</li><li>Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) in partnership with automation engineers and ensure correct plant operations.</li><li>Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with commissioning engineers and site supervisors.</li><li>Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, including sales and service teams, as well as clients.</li><li>Contribute to GEA-wide standardization and innovation efforts, continuously improving refrigeration technologies.</li></ul>Your Profile / Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering or experience in refrigeration technology.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration, with knowledge of refrigeration plant safety, heat pumps, and regulatory directives.</li><li>Proficiency in CAD systems (Autodesk Plant P&amp;ID) and MS Office.</li><li>Familiarity with international design standards and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Communication skills in Dutch is a plus. Understanding of English language is required.</li><li>Preferred: Knowledge of industrial automation, ERP systems (Microsoft Axapta), and electrical schematics.
