The role drives new business and develops existing customer accounts by understanding customer applications and requirements, positioning the company’s solutions effectively, and guiding opportunities from prospecting through to contract award. By combining technical knowledge with commercial acumen, the Sales Engineer delivers clear value to customers through consultative selling, product demonstrations, solution/equipment selection and the preparation of accurate, competitive proposals that meet customer needs while protecting the company’s interests.Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop and manage an individual sales plan aligned to territory objectives, including target account selection, lead qualification, pipeline development and accurate forecasting.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers through proactive contact management, regular customer visits, and structured follow-up using CRM tools.</li><li>Conduct discovery meetings to understand application requirements, technical specifications, budget constraints and timelines; translate customer needs into a clear value proposition.</li><li>Plan and deliver compelling product demonstrations (remote and on-site), tailoring presentations to both technical and commercial stakeholders and addressing questions and objections.</li><li>Coordinate and support evaluations, trials and proof-of-concept activities as needed, ensuring technical feasibility and documenting outcomes to support customer decision-making.</li><li>Select and configure appropriate equipment and solution options to meet customer requirements, ensuring compatibility with the customer environment and compliance with relevant standards.</li><li>Prepare high-quality commercial offers and detailed financial proposals, including pricing, configuration, scope of supply, delivery terms and any service components.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., applications/engineering, operations and service) to validate technical solutions, confirm availability and lead times, and ensure an accurate quotation.</li><li>Negotiate within agreed parameters and manage the opportunity from initial contact through order receipt, including documentation, internal handover and follow-up to secure timely closure.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, opportunities and next steps; provide regular reporting on activity, funnel status and market feedback.</li><li>Represent the company at relevant events (e.g., customer meetings, seminars and trade shows) and gather competitive and market intelligence to support business strategy.</li><li>Estimated time allocation: action plan development (10%), customer visits (30%), product demonstrations (30%), prospecting (20%), and other activities (10%).</li></ul>Required Education, Skills and Experience: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.</li><li>Minimum of two years’ experience selling technical products/solutions.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly, adapt to changing priorities and work effectively within a team.</li><li>Strong customer-facing skills with the energy and professionalism to develop and manage key accounts.</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Windows-based tools (e.g., Office applications) and comfortable working with CRM (SFDC) systems to plan activities, track opportunities and organize work effectively.</li><li>Fluent written and spoken Swedish &amp; English is required.</li><li>Possibility to travel within the area, and on occasions outside the area.</li><li></ul>Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree, relevant sales training/certification, and knowledge of the Swedish Test &amp; Measurement market.  Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
