Industrial Electrician

Lauderdale, Florida! The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, replacing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems and their components in a water treatment plant setting. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm, with participation in an on-call rotation with another electrician on site as needed. Must be available for emergency call-outs.  What Will You Be Doing At Woodard &amp; Curran?  <ul><li>Convert facility’s controls from outdated technology to an up to date SCADA (Supervisory, Control, AndData Acquisition) system.</li><li>Install and repair electrical systems and devices in and around city buildings.</li><li>Test electrical systems and equipment; detect causes of electrical failures and malfunctions; replace and/or repair components.</li><li>Ensure compliance of electrical systems and equipment with applicable codes.</li><li>Review electrical projects for upgrades; read and prepare electrical diagrams.</li><li>Maintain inventory and order materials or services.</li><li>Maintain records of work performed.</li><li>Assist in preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).</li><li>Use and knowledgeable of digital tools and asset management systems.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and applicable electrical codes.</li><li>Work around medium voltage, rotating equipment and various hazardous chemicals.</li><li>Calculate line loading leads to determine wire and equipment size and capacity.</li><li>Prepare sketches for electrical layouts and installation.</li><li>Read and interpret specifications, schematics, blueprints and diagrams.</li><li>May be required to perform "stand-by duty", being available and responding to off-duty emergency call-ins to effect repairs to malfunctioning electrical, electronic and/or instrument systems.</li><li>Perform related work as required.</li></ul>   What You Will Need To Succeed: <ul><li>Four plus years’ experience in industrial/commercial electrical systems, instrumentation and/or electronics.</li><li>Must possess a valid Journeyman electrician license or Certificate of Competency issued by the Broward County Central Examining Board.</li><li>Must possess experience working with both low and medium voltage electrical equipment.</li><li>Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.</li><li>Requires good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills; a good scientific and mechanical aptitude; and the ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, and other equipment.</li><li>Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.</li><li>Work positions include working with hands extended above head 18 inches (10%), and 30 inches in front of body (50%), squatting or kneeling (20%), and performing administrative tasks (20%).</li><li>Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds while walking distances of 25 feet.</li><li>Must possess a valid Florida driver's license, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.</li><li>Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic and environmental conditions;
