We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>We are seeking an innovative Learning Experience Designer &amp; Facilitator to support the end-to-end development of learning programs—from design through delivery and reinforcement. This role goes beyond traditional training approaches to create and facilitate visual, interactive, and behavior-focused learning solutions that drive measurable change across our organization.With a focus on enabling results and driving effective collaboration, this role spans leadership development, interpersonal and professional skills, and technical training. The ideal candidate is a highly self-directed creative professional who thrives in ambiguity, moves fluidly across project types, turns complexity into clarity, and takes pride in representing Joby Learning at its best. This is a hybrid (2/3 days a week) role based primarily in an office environment (Santa Cruz, Marina, or San Carlos) with occasional travel to other Joby sites for needs assessment and program delivery.</p><p> </p><p><strong>This is a temporary role, anticipated to last 6 months. </strong></p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><p><strong>Learning Experience Design</strong></p><ul> <li>Partner with stakeholders to align learning solutions with business priorities and participant needs.</li> <li>Apply adult learning principles to design experiences that drive sustained behavior change.</li> <li>Independently research and develop evidence-based learning solutions across diverse domains, including when subject-matter expertise is not readily available.</li> <li>Translate complex behavioral science, technical, and organizational concepts into practical, actionable learning experiences.</li> <li>Develop assessment strategies that measure learning transfer and performance improvement.</li> <li>Develop stealth learning opportunities that integrate seamlessly into daily workflows.</li> <li>Coordinate program logistics and communications.</li></ul><p><strong>Facilitation &amp; Program Delivery</strong></p><ul> <li>Facilitate workshops, practice labs, case studies, team-building, and discussions that drive active learning and real-world application.</li> <li>Adapt facilitation approach to diverse audiences — from frontline teams to senior leaders.</li> <li>Manage session preparation, delivery, and follow-through.</li> <li>Manage program schedules and track program effectiveness.</li></ul><p><strong>Multimedia &amp; Content Development</strong></p><ul> <li>Produce visually compelling learning materials using graphic design, video, and interactive media.</li> <li>Design and develop actionable guides and visual learning materials that promote immediate application.</li> <li>Create micro-learning and just-in-time learning resources accessible across platforms.</li> <li>Leverage AI tools to accelerate research and design processes.</li> <li>Ensure materials meet accessibility standards and accommodate diverse learning preferences.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>8+ years of experience designing adult learning experiences with demonstrated impact.</li> <li>Strong facilitation skills across varied audiences. </li> <li>Proven ability to independently scope, research, and develop high-quality learning content.</li> <li>Proficiency in multimedia design tools and modern learning technologies (graphics, interactive elements, etc.).</li> <li>Well-informed of emerging trends in learning technology and instructional design methodologies.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in instructional design software and multimedia creation tools.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-change environment while maintaining high-quality standards.</li> <li>Collaborative team player who takes pride in representing Joby Learning and elevating how learning is perceived across Joby.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of learning management systems and mobile learning platforms.</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Experience with leadership development, professional skills, and technical training programs.</li> <li>Experience with video content creation and editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or Synthesia).</li> <li>Experience with podcast production and audio content creation.</li> <li>Familiarity with performance consulting methodologies.</li> <li>Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles.</li> <li>Experience in manufacturing, aviation, or similar industrial environments.</li> <li>Portfolio demonstrating creative, non-traditional learning solutions across multiple content domains.</li></ul><p>The target base pay for this position is $57 - $94/yr.
