This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of backend trading systems, APIs, and UI applications through a combination of manual and automated testing. You will play a key role in validating complex end-to-end trading workflows, including distributed services, event-driven systems, and user interfaces (desktop and web). While contributing to automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, you are expected to remain deeply involved in hands-on testing, debugging, and defect analysis. Working on an EMEA shift.Role ResponsibilitiesTesting &amp; Quality Assurance <ul><li>Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and system testing for middle‑office and post‑trade applications. </li></ul><ul><li>Design, write, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases. </li></ul><ul><li>Validate REST APIs, backend services, integrations, and event‑driven systems, including messaging architectures built on message queue </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in defining and executing capacity, load, and performance test scenarios. </li></ul><ul><li>Analyse system logs, configurations, databases, and runtime data to confirm expected behaviour and diagnose defects. </li></ul>  Automation &amp; CI/CD <ul><li>Contribute to the design, enhancement, and maintenance of automation testing frameworks. </li></ul><ul><li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS DevOps). </li></ul><ul><li>Improve test coverage, execution speed, resilience, and test data reliability across environments. </li></ul>  Defect Management &amp; Production Support <ul><li>Identify, report, triage, and track defects throughout the bug lifecycle (bug advocacy). </li></ul><ul><li>Perform root‑cause analysis for test failures and production issues. </li></ul><ul><li>Serve as second‑ or third‑tier support for production issues impacting middle‑office and post‑trade workflows. </li></ul>  Collaboration &amp; Communication <ul><li>Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, vendors, and end‑users to understand business requirements and operational flows. </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate test plans, scenarios, execution results, risks, and quality metrics clearly. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote strong quality engineering practices. </li></ul>    Experience / Competences Essential <ul><li>Extensive experience in Software Quality Assurance (manual and automation). </li></ul><ul><li>Strong proficiency in C# or similar OO language for automated testing. </li></ul><ul><li>Solid experience with SQL and Linux‑based environments. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of test design techniques; test scripting and automation; defect analysis, reporting, and tracking; QA methodologies and best practices. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience testing backend systems, APIs, and distributed or microservice‑based platforms. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of test plans and results. </li></ul><ul><li>Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and iterative (Agile) delivery models. </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, delivery‑driven environment. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and self‑direction. </li></ul>  Desired <ul><li>Experience testing financial systems (middle‑office, post‑trade, trade life‑cycle and reconciliations). </li></ul><ul><li>Experience testing event‑driven and messaging systems, including Solace PubSub+, Kafka, RabbitMQ/AMQP, or MQTT. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Git. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). </li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with performance, load, or resilience testing. </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with BDD tools (Behave, Cucumber). </li></ul><ul><li>Experience using AI‑assisted testing or QA automation tools. </li></ul>  Band &amp; Level: Professional, 5#LI-Hybrid #LI-ASONot The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
