The ideal candidate will partner closely with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction (NPI), drive root cause corrective actions, and improve supplier processes. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role supporting production, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Investigate supplier-related material and component failures and drive root cause corrective actions (SCAR, 8D, CAPA)</li><li>Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition nonconforming material</li><li>Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective action plans to improve quality and delivery</li><li>Manage component-related activities including EOL/obsolescence, PCNs, and alternate part qualification</li><li>Maintain BOM integrity and coordinate with Engineering to identify and qualify replacement components</li><li>Respond to component availability and lifecycle risks impacting production</li><li>Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards</li><li>Evaluate and onboard new suppliers to support production and NPI</li><li>Partner with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality and manufacturing processes</li><li>Collaborate with Engineering on design for manufacturability (DFM) and supplier selection during new product development</li><li>Support the transition of new products into production, ensuring supplier readiness</li><li>Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve production issues</li><li>Analyze incoming inspection and in-process data to identify trends and drive improvements</li><li>Support updates to documentation, specifications, and quality standards as needed</li></ul>Job Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field) preferred</li><li>Experience in supplier quality, component engineering, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Experience with root cause and corrective action methodologies (8D, SCAR, CAPA)</li><li>Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills</li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Willingness to travel (~5%) to supplier sites as needed</li></ul>Nice-to-Have <ul><li>Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing</li><li>Experience working with electronic or electromechanical components, BOMs, PCNs, or EOL/obsolescence</li><li>Experience working with machined components and suppliers</li><li>Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9000 </li></ul>About Teledyne FLIR DefenseJoin Teledyne FLIR Defense, where we're dedicated to supporting critical missions with an exciting range of cutting-edge technologies.
