Job Title: Technical Business AnalystLocation: ScottishPower HQ, Glasgow (Hybrid)Salary: From £50,400 + up to 10% bonus, car allowance, private medical insurance + other excellent benefitsClosing Date: 15.06.2026Help us create a better future, quickerAt ScottishPower we’re looking for Business Analyst's with a balance of technical and functional expertise to join our Customer Business Centre of Excellence, Meter Management team. You will be responsible for the development roadmap and support of a suite of applications that span across multiple technologies and 3rd party vendors.    You will be versatile, enthusiastic about solving challenging problems and possess the agility to meet the fast-moving needs of the business. You’ll lead the delivery of system and process improvements, technical upgrades and cloud migration projects, and use your technical skills to interrogate systems for problem shooting and analysis.  What you’ll be doingProviding great customer service is key to everything we do in the Customer Business, so you will be striving to improve system stability through analysis and resolution of performance issues to ensure our customers have a great experience. Security is also key to what we do, so you will be responsible for keeping our systems secure through rigorous vulnerability management.<ul><li>Delivering application solutions across multiple technologies, from planning and analysis, through to design, development, testing, training and deployment</li><li>Performing technical tasks for system maintenance, problem shooting and analysis</li><li>Managing 3rd party vendors to ensure they deliver development and support within agreed quality and timescales</li><li>Delivering functional and technical releases and upgrades</li><li>Operational monitoring and support to maintain system security, stability and efficiency</li><li>Delivering vulnerability management and remediation plans to maintain system security</li><li>Collaborating with wider Customer Business Centre of Excellence (COE) team, other business areas and IT teams to deliver solutions</li><li>Prioritising solutions based on business impact / benefit</li><li>Communicating complex solutions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders up to senior management level</li></ul>What you’ll bringYou’ll bring a strong technical foundation, proven experience delivering IT and digital solutions, and the ability to translate complex problems into practical, high‑quality outcomes. You combine analytical thinking with clear communication and stakeholder engagement, enabling you to work effectively across teams and drive meaningful improvements.Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience</li><li>Extensive experience of IT project delivery</li><li>Experience of delivering technical solutions</li><li>Experience of delivering process improvements</li><li>Previous experience in a technical role, e.g. as a developer or technical analyst</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Ability to design end to end solutions involving multiple technologies</li><li>Experience of SCRUM/Agile</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of the UK Energy Retail Market, preferably from working in the utilities sector</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of the UK Telecoms Market</li><li>Knowledge of Cloud Architectures</li><li>Knowledge of SMART metering technologies</li><li>Knowledge of Oracle database technologies</li><li>Knowledge of AWS technologies</li><li>Experience of SAP, SQL, Java, XML, API technology</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
