Work hours will be from 4:00pm to 2:30am - Monday through Thursday</div><div></div><div>The CNC Operator is responsible for performing the set-up, autonomous maintenance and operation of CNC machinery utilizing a variety of tools and established Hitachi Rail programs. The Operator will ensure that parts meet or exceed company specifications based on engineering changes and other manufacturing and technical documentation.</div>Accountabilities:<ul><li>Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other technical documents</li><li>Set-up and operate CNC machines, to include lathes, milling machines, etc.</li><li>Perform autonomous maintenance on equipment, such as tool and fluid changes</li><li>Visually and manually inspecting parts and workmanship for defects using measuring tools and gauges, ensuring they meet quality standards</li><li>Load and assess tool quality, and assist in troubleshooting machine issues</li><li>Follow the 5S policy, keeping the work area clean and organized</li><li>Inspect work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE critical requirements and great attention to detail</li><li>Support other departments as needed, including assembly work and painting</li><li>Adhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policies</li></ul>Must have the ability to:<ul><li>Obtain Powered Industrial Trucks (e.g. forklift, pallet jack, etc.) Certification</li><li>Follow instructions, communicate effectively and document work activities</li><li>Measure parts and identify defects</li><li>Train Associate level operators</li><li>Lift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time</li><li>Lift or lower items weighing &lt; 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts &lt; 42lbs (19kg)</li><li>Work the second shift - 4:00pm to 2:30am Monday through Thursday.</li></ul>Required skills/experience:<ul><li>4+ years of Associate CNC Operator or similar experience</li><li>Experience operating overhead and jib cranes</li><li>Understand the use of CAD/CAM software in CNC operations</li><li>Familiarity with Metrology tools (e.g. hardness and stress testing)</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP Enterprise Software</li></ul>Desired skills/experience:<ul><li>CNC programming experience</li><li>Knowledge of Hitachi Rail products</li></ul>Education: High school diploma or GED equivalentLanguage:English ProficiencyBenefits: Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short &amp; Long Term Disability, Life &amp; Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
