Position Overview:Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative organization, and the Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the company’s accounting and financial reporting operations. This role supports month-end and year-end close activities, account reconciliations, technical accounting analyses, audit deliverables, and the continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a proactive, ownership-driven mindset, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in partnership with cross-functional teams. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting and partners closely with the Accounting Manager to support Solid Power’s internal and external financial reporting responsibilities.Job Duties:<ul><li>Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Own assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal deadlines.</li><li>Maintain the general ledger and analyze financial results for accuracy, completeness, and key variances.</li><li>Prepare internal and external financial reports, including monthly flux and variance analyses, and provide insights to leadership on key financial drivers.</li><li>Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing supporting documentation and responding to audit requests.</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Monitor balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.</li><li>Support accounting activities related to accounts payable and payroll, as needed.</li><li>Support the company’s SOX 404 program by performing control activities, maintaining process documentation, and assisting with the testing and remediation of key controls.</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency.</li></ul>Qualifications/Requirements:Required Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.</li><li>Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting practices.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit support.</li><li>Working knowledge of internal control concepts and the SOX 404 framework.</li><li>Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, large data sets).</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>CPA, CMA, or progress toward professional certification.</li><li>Experience at a publicly traded company, including familiarity with SEC reporting requirements (Forms 10-Q and 10-K).</li><li>Big 4 or national public accounting experience, with exposure to audits of publicly traded companies.</li><li>Experience in the manufacturing, technology, or clean-energy industry.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li style="font-family:helvetica , arial , sans-serif;font-size:12pt;">Prolonged periods working at a computer.</li></ul>Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000/yearBenefits: Solid Power offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, employer paid Life/AD&amp;D/STD/LTD insurance, 401k with company match, 8 paid holidays + the week between Christmas and New Years off, Unlimited PTO, up to six (6) weeks paid FMLA leave, cell phone reimbursement and eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity plans. Company may delay commencement of employment, rescind an offer of employment, terminate employment, and/or may modify job responsibilities, compensation, benefits, and/or access to Company facilities and information systems, as Company deems appropriate, in order to ensure compliance with applicable government access control restrictions.This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 days and will remain open until filled or adjusted based on the volume of applicants.All offers of employment at Solid Power are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.Please no soliciting from staffing agencies.
