<div>The Field Service Technician specializes in Microgrids and plays a crucial role in the assembly, installation, integration, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microgrid systems. BoxPower is seeking a candidate who will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of microgrid installations, contributing to the advancement of clean and efficient energy solutions. <ul><li>Installation and Commissioning:<ul><li>Execute the installation and commissioning of microgrid components, including DERs, solar panels, energy storage systems, generators, balance of plant, and control hardware.</li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications during installation processes.</li><li>Install, configure, and troubleshoot system communication networks</li><li>Install, configure, and test control systems including fire detection, security, automation, and system operations</li><li>Program and test major and minor equipment, including breakers, Inverters, Charge Controllers, generators and transfer switches, protective relays and metering, plcs, RTAC, industrial computers, etc.</li><li>Perform quality assurance on the product, documenting and implementing changes and workmanship</li><li>Configure, test, and troubleshoot data reporting and SCADA system functionality</li></ul></li><li>System Maintenance:<ul><li>Conduct routine maintenance and performance checks on microgrid systems to identify and address any potential issues.</li><li>Perform diagnostic tests to optimize system performance and efficiency.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering teams to implement changes to improve long term performance and reliability</li></ul></li><li>Troubleshooting:<ul><li>Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot issues related to microgrid systems.</li><li>Analyze system logs and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve technical problems efficiently.</li><li>Provide on-site support to resolve complex technical challenges.</li><li>Provide scheduled on call support as needed</li><li>Troubleshoot control systems and ensure all devices, alarms, and equipment are functioning as expected</li><li>Perform high-level field service work</li><li>Perform duties 24/7 as needed during on call shifts</li></ul></li><li>Customer Support:<ul><li>Interact with clients and end-users to address concerns, provide training, and ensure customer satisfaction.</li><li>Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical concepts and solutions in a clear and understandable manner.</li></ul></li><li>Documentation:<ul><li>Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service activities, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.</li><li>Generate service reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Record and document pre-commissioning and Factory Assurance Testing checklists</li><li>Record and document post-commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing checklists</li></ul></li><li>Collaboration:<ul><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and sales, to enhance overall system performance and customer experience.</li><li>Provide feedback to the development team based on real-world experiences in the field.</li><li>Work efficiently with different trades</li><li>Support with Shop builds, including but not limited to wiring, assembly and quality control as needed</li></ul></li></ul>Skills and Qualifications:<ul><li>Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microgrid/BESS/Generator/Solar or related systems.</li><li>Knowledge of electrical systems, power conversion electronics</li><li>Understanding of electrical safety and codes</li><li>Understanding of control systems</li><li>Advanced understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, CAN, etc</li><li>Advanced understanding of computer systems, networking, and hardware</li><li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, understanding of file systems and peripherals</li><li>Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, and energy storage.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and situational awareness</li><li>Natural curiosity and willingness to learn</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.</li><li>Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed, sometimes for long durations</li><li>Working well under pressure during time-sensitive scenarios</li><li>Certifications (desired):</li><li>Relevant safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, First Aid, etc.).</li></ul></div>
