This will include our substation and medium voltage distribution system.  Skills in all areas of electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of electrical sub-disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of electrical tasks from substation maintenance and operation, power distribution switching, lighting and control panel upgrades to low voltage controls troubleshooting and repair. Responsibilities will include: <ul><li>Working as a team member with the entire facilities organization, as well as all other organizations within Redwood Materials. </li><li>Operating various MV (up to 34.5kV) substation apparatus and distribution equipment. </li><li>Maintaining and troubleshooting various types of electrical systems, equipment, and components. </li><li>Reading and understanding electrical schematics and blueprints in order to maintain, operate, and repair electrical systems of varying power levels. </li><li>Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, P&amp;IDs, blueprints, and schematics. </li><li>Performing a wide variety of job scopes. </li><li>Displaying a positive attitude and practicing good work ethic that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company. </li><li>Completing tasks in a timely manner and providing feedback to internal teams.  </li></ul>Desired Qualifications: <ul><li>Must have a minimum of 5+ years of Electrician journeyman level or higher experience in industrial or commercial settings </li><li>Completion of Substation Maintenance I training (as per AVO Training Institute or equivalent) </li><li>Ability to complete Substation Maintenance II training  (as per AVO Training Institute or equivalent) </li><li>Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meters, and other test equipment </li><li>Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book. </li><li>Experienced in handling low voltage to 480 VAC. </li><li>Experienced in operating medium voltage to 34.5kV. </li><li>Knowledge in installing and troubleshooting of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components a plus. </li><li>Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics. </li><li>Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification. </li><li>Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing. </li><li>Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed. </li><li>Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures. </li><li>Ability to work in high elevation up to 60 ft. high. </li><li>Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people </li><li>A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!  </li></ul>Physical Requirements:   <ul><li>Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.   </li><li>Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards  </li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.  </li><li>Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs. .  </li><li>Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.  </li><li>Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone  </li></ul>Working Conditions:    <ul><li>Environment, such as office or outdoors and inclement weather conditions.  </li><li>Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme heat/cold.   </li><li>Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.   </li><li>Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as an occasional part of the job.  </li></ul><div>The position is full-time.
