Solar Electrical Superintendent

We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring. Summary:The Superintendent - Electrical – Solar is responsible for coordinating the site electrical construction schedule, execution plan, and managing the daily issues involved during the construction of solar generation project. This position coordinates all electrical site construction activities and supervises all electrical field personnel as required to successfully complete the solar project on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent - Electrical - Solar works diligently to build a safe, high quality, profitable solar project. Requirements:<ul><li>Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client’s expectations. </li><li>Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.</li><li>Manages landowner expectations, concerns, and Right of Way access.</li><li>Provides information about site activities including accurate install rates for electrical discipline, projected task completion and hazards to the Construction Manager. </li><li>Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for daily construction activities with employees. </li><li>Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues. </li><li>Maintains electrical construction schedule, identifies upcoming issues, and solves problems.</li><li>Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.</li><li>Understands the project plans and specifications.</li><li>Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final electrical punch list.</li><li>Ensures that transmission line structures - including all foundations and required access - are built as per specification. </li><li>Ensures site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specification. </li><li>Inputs into the execution of overall construction plan. </li><li>Reviews the engineer's drawings prior to beginning construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner. </li><li>Builds and maintains relationship with local AHJ as needed.</li><li>Manages quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the design of the project and are consistent.</li><li>Maintains an organized job site, including in the onsite construction office.</li><li>Manages QA for electrical construction. </li><li>Manages design change notices. </li><li>Manages subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance. </li><li>Manages the electrical material on site.</li><li>Manages Safety of electrical crews to the highest level. </li><li>Provides the required electrical documents, drawings, and other forms to active projects for monitoring and maintaining the EMS.</li><li>Ensures all completion of all required permitting activities before commencement of work.</li><li>Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.</li><li>Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies &amp; Procedures</li></ul> Safety: <ul><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. </li><li>Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.</li><li>Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.</li><li>Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.</li><li>Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.</li><li>Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.</li><li>Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.</li><li>Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.</li><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. </li></ul> Leadership:<ul><li>Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.</li><li>Manages one or more direct reports.</li><li>Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.</li><li>Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.</li><li>Demonstrates leadership and expertise in eyes of client group.</li><li>Employee Development:<ul><li>Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities.</li><li>Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development. Comfortable with empowering others.</li><li>Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.</li></ul></li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>4+ years experience solar construction or utility construction environment required.</li><li>Valid Driver’s license required.</li><li>Ability to travel 76-100% of the time domestically.</li><li>Advanced level of knowledge in<ul><li>Safety and OSHA requirements</li><li>LOTO implementation &amp; Management</li><li>Electrical installation experience</li><li>Interpretation of a project schedule</li><li>Planning and task direction</li><li>Adaptability to environment</li><li>Working in fast paced environment</li><li>Interpretation of scopes of work</li><li>Project permits</li><li>Decision making</li><li>Understanding environmental concepts including permit requirements</li><li>Interpreting state rules and regulations</li><li>Contract management</li><li>Sub-contractor and vendor and materials management</li><li>Electrical Construction drawing review</li><li>Electrical Drawing Quantity Takeoff</li><li>Reporting</li></ul></li><li>Intermediate level of knowledge in:<ul><li>Project Management</li><li>Creating logical and resource-loaded project schedules</li><li>Budget Analysis and controls</li><li>Estimating work efforts</li><li>Change orders</li><li>QA/QC processes</li><li>Development of processes and procedures</li><li>Continuous Improvement such as Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management</li><li>Project Finance</li><li>Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Visio)</li><li>Job Costing or accounting software</li></ul></li><li>Basic level of knowledge in:<ul><li>Engineering Management</li><li>Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6)</li><li>Proficient in construction in both electric substations (energized and green field) and transmission lines</li></ul></li><li>Functional competencies include attention to detail, system thinking, accountability, prioritization, and excellence</li></ul> Anticipated base salary range:  $120,000 – $154,500Premium Daily Per Diem paid for food, lodging, rotational travel  The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
