At Hitachi Global Air Power, you’ll be part of a global network that’s shaping the future of industrial power.Summary of the position:The Buyer - Purchasing will purchase industrial goods that may include castings, machine parts, fabrications, engines, motors, mechanical subassemblies, electronics, fasteners, fittings, and MROs.This position is located on-site in Michigan City, Indiana.Duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Purchase Order Management &amp; Order Execution through MRP</li><li>Non-Conforming Material Management</li><li>Invoice and Pricing Resolution</li><li>Expediting and Order Tracking</li><li>Internal Status Communication</li><li>Departmental Metric Accountability - On-Time Delivery, Material Flow, Inventory Management</li><li>Establishing Accurate SAP Planning Parameters and Material Replenishment Strategies</li><li>Various Procurement Planning Tasks</li><li>Work with planners to obtain delivery dates for production shortages, and report back to the production team</li><li>Enable supplier participation with Supplier Web tool</li><li>Daily Supplier Management and Communication</li></ul>Qualifications:Education:<ul><li>BS Degree or equivalent work experience, preferred</li></ul>Professional experience:<ul><li>5 years of purchasing, planning or supply chain experience within industrial manufacturing.</li><li>Required SAP knowledge.</li><li>Knowledge of MRP system(s) and Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business conditions, and work well across all levels of the organization.</li><li>Ability to creatively solve problems.</li><li>Self- Motivated and Assertive.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and active listening skill</li></ul>Key behaviors:<ul><li>Candidate must work well in a team environment.
