About this opportunity The primary purpose of the Electrician is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as requiredAvailable shift: Morning 7:00 AM - 3:00 PMYour key responsibilities will be to:Maintenance and Repair<ul><li>Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveying systems</li><li>Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment reliability and performance</li><li>Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to raise, track, perform, and close work orders accurately and on time</li><li>Maintain key site services such as compressors, chillers, and boilers</li><li>Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes</li><li>Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime while ensuring safety, quality, and operational performance</li></ul>Installation and Projects<ul><li>Carry out installations of electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety standards</li><li>Support OEMs during installation and commissioning</li><li>Participate in and deliver continuous improvement and expansion projects</li></ul>Troubleshooting<ul><li>Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime</li><li>Conduct fault finding across PLC, SCADA, and I/O systems</li><li>Perform root cause analysis on critical failures and implement sustainable corrective actions</li></ul>Safety and Compliance<ul><li>Ensure all work practices and equipment meet Australian Safety Standards and site requirements</li><li>Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections</li><li>Prepare and manage permits as required</li><li>Review and complete JSA, JSEA, and SWMS documentation</li></ul>Operational Support<ul><li>Manage and maintain store spares inventory</li><li>Coordinate and oversee contractor engagement on site</li><li>Support general site operations through proactive maintenance and planning</li></ul>Documentation<ul><li>Maintain accurate records of maintenance, installations, and repairs</li><li>Ensure all maintenance activities are documented within the CMMS, including work order completion, failure reporting, and follow-up actions</li><li>Track parts usage, labour time, and completed work activities</li><li>Generate and review maintenance reports to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement</li></ul> Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:<ul><li>Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment</li><li>Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, or similar)</li><li>Strong knowledge of PLCs and automation systems</li><li>Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities</li><li>Mechanical aptitude and a strong commitment to safety</li><li>Experience in FMCG or plastics manufacturing (desirable)</li><li>Experience conducting risk assessments and safety reviews</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li></ul>
