If you are looking for a role where your contribution is visible, your development matters, and your work supports a more sustainable future, Scatec may be the right place for you.</p><p>Ready to make an impact?</p><p> </p><p>As the Business Development Lead for Scatec in Romania, you will be responsible for leading the development and structuring of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including onshore wind, BESS, and PV, from early opportunity identification through the development cycle to financial close.</p><p>Your ability to lead external and internal development processes, structure and negotiate complex transactions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is key to successfully leading projects to construction start.</p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing </strong> </p><ul> <li>Identify, screen, and evaluate new project opportunities for acquisition and/or greenfield development, lead negotiations for project acquisition, and manage acquisition and transaction processes.</li> <li>Plan, coordinate, and lead project development activities, including securing land rights, obtaining required local permits and approvals, and securing interconnection rights from utilities.</li> <li>Act as project manager for projects through the structuring process and until financial close, taking overall responsibility for project development strategy, offtake strategy, and business case optimization with support from cross-functional teams, both internal and external.</li> <li>Represent Scatec in engaging with local stakeholders, including authorities, advisors, partners, and landowners, with the expectation of necessary local travel in Bucharest and to project sites throughout Romania.</li> <li>Support the processes required to secure equity and debt financing for projects to reach financial close.</li> <li>Lead cooperation with development partners and assume responsibility for external relationships.</li> <li>Undertake market reviews, analyze regulatory issues and policy support for utility-scale renewable energy projects, and contribute to the development strategy for Romania.</li></ul><p>Your work will support real decisions, real assets, and real operational outcomes.                                 </p><h1>What you'll bring</h1><ul> <li>Education: Commercial, technical, legal or environmental university-level degree.</li> <li>Experience: Renewable energy experience, or similar, ideally from project development, engineering companies, environmental or consulting firms, renewable independent power producers, or other infrastructure companies.</li> <li>Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.</li> <li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with different stakeholders.</li> <li>Experience with permitting of renewable energy projects in Romania.</li> <li>Advanced understanding of power markets, particularly relating to renewable energy and BESS projects.</li> <li>Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable, but not required.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of business fundamentals and financial analysis.</li> <li>Expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including presentation software and Excel.</li> <li>Willingness to travel as required.</li> <li>Language: Fluent in both written and spoken Romanian and English.</li></ul><h1>What it’s like to work at Scatec</h1><p>At Scatec, we combine purpose with performance.
