AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Burnaby, BC office. The successful candidate will bring 2+ years of experience delivering municipal construction projects, along with a strong understanding of civil engineering design, construction practices, and contract administration.In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of linear conveyance infrastructure projects, primarily within the municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater sectors. You will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients to support project execution.The responsibilities of this position include:<ul><li>Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities</li><li>Writing of technical memorandums and reports</li><li>Performing construction inspections</li><li>Preparing documentation for design projects and reports</li><li>Assisting with the preparation of construction cost estimates</li><li>Assisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents</li><li>Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.</li><li>Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.</li><li>Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.</li><li>Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.</li><li>Identifies discrepancies in results.</li><li>Provides guidance to entry level engineers.</li><li>Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.</li></ul>
