Responsibilities / TasksThe Project / Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering projects from conception through to completion, combining project management and production engineering expertise to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. This role acts as the link between client requirements, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>Health &amp; Safety</h3><ul><li>Comply with all relevant Health &amp; Safety legislation, company policies and procedures.</li><li>Promote safe working practices and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.</li></ul><h3>Quality Management</h3><ul><li>Work in accordance with company quality systems, policies, procedures and standards.</li><li>Support the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the company's quality management systems.</li><li>Operate within corporate policies and frameworks while contributing to strategic improvements where appropriate.</li></ul><h3>Project &amp; Technical Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Act as the primary technical contact for internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor engineering project tasks using the company Task List system.</li><li>Carry out Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews to ensure equipment designs are suitable for production.</li><li>Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP/ERP systems.</li><li>Resolve technical, planning and budget issues to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and efficiently.</li><li>Liaise with third-party contractors to establish realistic timescales and effective working practices.</li><li>Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to suppliers, workshop technicians and assembly teams.</li><li>Ensure process requirements are effectively integrated into automation and control systems.</li><li>Lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities, including coordinating customer FATs.</li><li>Manage individual project tasks and associated resources to maximise efficiency in relation to cost, quality and delivery schedules, while providing regular progress updates to Project Managers.</li><li>Work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and projects simultaneously.</li></ul><h3>Performance</h3><ul><li>Ensure all engineering information and documentation is checked and approved in accordance with company requirements.</li><li>Take ownership of allocated tasks, ensuring they are completed efficiently while meeting project cost, schedule and quality objectives.</li></ul><h3>Corporate Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with other GEA sites to achieve operational efficiencies and shared best practice.</li></ul><h3>Personal Development</h3><ul><li>Take responsibility for your own professional development by identifying and agreeing training and development needs.</li><li>Support change initiatives and continuous improvement activities.</li><li>Maximise the effective use of all available systems, tools and resources to achieve the highest levels of efficiency, quality and delivery performance.</li></ul><h3>Analytical &amp; Data Management</h3><ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within all relevant business systems in line with your responsibilities.</li></ul><h3>Other Duties</h3><ul><li>Undertake any other duties that are reasonably required and are appropriate to your skills, experience and qualifications.</li></ul><h3>Personal Objectives</h3><ul><li>Achieve personal performance objectives as agreed and documented within the company's performance management process.</li></ul>Your Profile / Qualifications<ul><li>Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technological discipline, preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).</li><li>Proficient in AutoCAD or a similar CAD package (essential).</li><li>Knowledge of pharmaceutical process systems and equipment qualification procedures would be advantageous.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and cross-functional teams.</li></ul>Did we spark your interest?
