<h2>Overview</h2>We are designing the Grid of the futureEPE is in search of a highly skilled Senior Engineer with a background in Transmission Planning studies. In this role you will work closely with senior leadership to support our growth strategy and provide subject matter expertise both internally through coaching and developing staff as well as externally to our clients. <h2>Responsibilities</h2>How you can make an impact:<ul> <li>Perform high-level bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA</li> <li>Lead and mentor electrical engineers in performing power system steady state, short circuit, and dynamic &amp; transient stability analyses</li> <li>Conduct advanced and specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies</li> <li>Ensure timely completion of assigned projects while meeting all quality and budget objectives</li> <li>Interact with clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns regarding the project(s) under study</li> <li>Develop mitigation plans for identified constraints and system issues</li> <li>Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies and processes</li> <li>Lead process improvement efforts to enhance efficiency</li> <li>Support business development activities</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here what’s needed:<ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Electric Engineering required; emphasis in power systems preferred</li> <li>5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer performing power system impact studies such as Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit </li> <li>Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.</li> <li>Experience automating/programming in Python preferred</li> <li>Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation</li> <li>Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships</li> <li>Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters</li> <li>Capable of managing multiple tasks</li> <li>Flexible with the ability to manage change</li> <li>Have high standards on producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride</li> <li>Strong technical/report writing skills</li> <li>Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation</li></ul>How we support you:<ul> <li>Comprehensive health and wellness benefits including medical, dental, and vision with 100% premium coverage for you.</li> <li>Generous PTO and paid holidays</li> <li>Employee Ownership Program</li> <li>Work with industry leaders</li> <li>401K, up to a 4% match (100% vested from day 1)</li> <li>Flexible Work including hybrid and remote possibilities base on position.</li></ul>  Location: This position is open to Remote USTravel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less) EPE is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
