If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.</p><p>Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.</p><p>This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.</p></div><div><div><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>The Market Analyst will use energy market expertise, data analysis, and AI-native research methods to help customers understand battery revenues, asset performance, and market change. The role sits between research, product, data, and customers. It is suited to someone who wants to explain what is happening in power markets, whilst building the tools and systems that make analysis faster, sharper, and more scalable.</p><p>You will produce written articles, videos, and research outputs that make complex market dynamics easier to understand. Your work will help developers, owners, operators, investors, and lenders understand how batteries earn revenue, how market conditions are changing, and what that means commercially.</p><p>A large part of the role is building Modo Energy’s AI-native research capability. That means using large language models, AI coding assistants, automations, and data pipelines to turn market data into high-quality analysis faster than traditional approaches allow. We are looking for someone who already uses AI to improve how they work, and who wants to keep pushing that further.</p><p>The role will have a strong influence on how Modo Energy grows across Australia and the wider APAC region. You will help shape our research, product direction, customer conversations, and market view as battery energy storage becomes a larger part of the power system.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Producing data-led, analytical content about power markets and asset operations, in a variety of formats, mainly written articles and videos, to communicate high-value insights to our audience.</li><li>Building AI-native workflows and automations that make the research and content process faster, sharper, and more scalable.</li><li>Supporting local and global data science, product, and sales teams through research outputs, market knowledge, and AI-enabled analytical tools.</li><li>Staying up to date with the latest news across markets and policy, and communicating this within the company and to the wider industry.</li><li>Getting to know our users, building your network, and staying up to date with the latest developments in the clean energy industry.</li><li>Working collaboratively with teams across the business to make sure the organisation is aligned and giving our users clear value across our products, content, and customer-facing work.</li></ul><h3><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h3><ul><li>2+ years of professional working experience in energy markets.</li><li>Proven quantitative and analytical skills. You’ll be relied upon to discover, explore, visualise, and communicate trends and patterns in numerical data, in ways that provide value to our users.</li><li>Experience writing clearly and concisely, with the ability to distil complex topics into accessible, jargon-free language.</li><li>Critical thinking skills. At Modo Energy, you will have the platform to become an influential thought leader within the renewable energy space, so you’ll need to develop your own thoughtful opinions and ask insightful questions of those around you.</li><li>A builder mentality, with a track record of using AI tools, coding assistants, automations, or data pipelines to improve analytical and research processes.</li><li>Comfortable working collaboratively in small teams, with an interest in the pace, ownership, and problem-solving that comes with that dynamic.</li></ul><h3><strong>Nice to have:</strong></h3><ul><li>In-depth knowledge of how the electricity system works and how power is traded, with some experience of how battery energy storage systems earn money.</li><li>Experience carrying out complex data analysis in Python.</li><li>Experience public speaking and/or presenting on video.</li><li>Existing network in the energy storage world.</li></ul></div></div><div><p><strong>What You Can Expect From Us</strong></p><p>At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward.
