<h2>What The Role Is</h2>Reporting to the Senior Director of Asset Management, the Manager will be responsible for financial and commercial management of distributed and community solar projects located across the United States. Asset Management serves as the owner’s representative, ensuring that budget control, value optimization, and risk mitigation are performed during the entire operational lifecycle of a project. The Manager of Asset Management will work to maximize the value of assets and manage compliance with project agreements and incentive programs. The Manager will work closely with internal Clearway teams, build trusted relationships with financial partners, and provide coaching and mentoring to staff members.  This hybrid position will be located in our San Diego office. If you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications below but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.   <h2>What You'll Be Doing</h2>P&amp;L Management: <ul><li>Manage the P&amp;L and cash position for all generating assets within the assigned portfolio.</li><li>Review monthly operational performance and financial variance reports. Investigate and remedy any variances to the budget.</li><li>Review revenue performance and work with internal teams to explain variances and develop strategies to maximize value.</li><li>Develop annual project budgets and update monthly accrual and cash forecasts and financial models as needed.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams and manage plant optimization, warranty claims, insurance claims, and revenue optimization and recovery efforts.</li><li>Initiate and/or support major projects, divestitures, capital investment, refinance, and revenue enhancement proposals. </li></ul>Commercial Management, Compliance, &amp; Reporting: <ul><li>Ensure all project obligations and interests are successfully administered under project agreements and resolve any contractual issues with counterparties.</li><li>Ensure general business-related licenses, permits, and regulatory requirements, reporting, and transactions with regional authorities, banks, governing, and other external parties are successfully managed.</li><li>Establish trusted relationships with customers, partners, or joint asset owners, ISOs, and regulatory agencies.</li><li>Manage commercial issues and associated strategies for resolution with counterparties, including mediation or litigation.</li><li>Negotiate or amend contracts to improve asset performance and mitigate risk.</li><li>Manage monthly lost output and guaranteed energy production status per applicable offtake requirements.</li><li>Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders as required. </li></ul>Operational management: <ul><li>Manage third-party Operations &amp; Maintenance (O&amp;M) providers, ensuring adherence to O&amp;M agreements.</li><li>Lead root cause analysis efforts for underperforming assets, and collaborate with technical teams to address the issues.</li><li>Identify and optimize spare parts strategy for major components.</li><li>Conduct remote monitoring of solar projects via online data acquisition systems (Locus, Powertrack). </li></ul><h2>What You'll Bring</h2><ul><li>5+ years of energy industry experience in asset management, O&amp;M management, project administration, business administration, project management, contract administration, project finance, or other commercial roles.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.</li><li>Strong business and financial savvy with the ability to support a high-performance organization that will deliver operational excellence and meet or exceed financial targets.</li><li>A strong grasp of technical solar project details; ability to effectively collaborate with operational and technical teams.</li><li>Ability to perform well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment and occasionally work extended hours to meet project deadlines.</li><li>Ability to think creatively, manage competing priorities, work independently, and pay attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to meet and communicate effectively with various Customers, off-takers, and Investors.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise manner.</li><li>Understanding of renewable financial models and the full capital stack (tax equity, debt, and cash equity).</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. </li></ul><h2>What Would Be Nice</h2><ul><li>Experience managing Community and Distributed solar projects.</li><li>Experience managing O&amp;M providers. </li><li>MBA is highly desirable. </li></ul>Clearway will not sponsor non-immigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).  <div><div><div>The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.
