As a Proposal Writer, you will work within the Policy and Partnerships team and manage all aspects of proposal writing, including leading the development of compelling content, crafting submission documents and synthesizing complex information from Veo’s Senior Leadership, Product, Public Policy, and Operations teams into compelling narratives that support Veo’s market entry priorities. This role is ideal for an experienced writer, editor, or content strategist with a talent for storytelling and a background in competitive sales or marketing. An interest in sustainable transportation and building safe, orderly, and accessible shared mobility systems is a plus. This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.Responsibilities for the Role:<ul><li>RFP and Market Entry Support</li><ul><li>Work alongside the other Market Entry staff to lead the development and submittal of proposals for RFP and Permit applications that are compliant, professionally produced, and delivered on time.</li><li>Perform detailed analysis of RFQ/RFP/Permit documents and supplementary content to enrich our offerings and ensure our content is tailored to each local context.</li><li>Write high-quality, creative, and responsive content for proposals.</li><li>Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Veo’s Policy and Partnerships, Product, Finance, Operations, and Engineering departments.</li><li>Track proposal success rates, analyze feedback, and implement continuous improvements to enhance proposal effectiveness.</li><li>Work closely with the Design team to coordinate the production of high-quality visuals and graphics that improve communication.</li><li>Analyze relevant trends, technologies, and city policy priorities in order to develop new initiatives that tailor Veo’s product offering to priority markets. </li></ul></ul> What we are looking for (Requirements for the role):<ul><li>5+ years of experience in proposal development, permit or grant writing, content creation, editing, or related fields such as sales/marketing, journalism, or report/technical writing. </li><li>Exceptional writing, editing, verbal communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences, including public agencies, universities, and business stakeholders, and translate complex technical information into persuasive and accessible content.</li><li>A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to producing error-free, high-quality work under tight deadlines.</li><li>Knowledge of public sector procurement, regulations, or urban planning is an advantage but not required.</li><li>Proficiency in content strategy development, aligning messaging with brand goals and audience needs.</li><li>Graphic design experience and/or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign a plus</li><li>Bachelor's Degree expected, Master’s degree in a related subject (Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Urban Studies) is preferred and may substitute for 2 years of work experience.</li><li>A passion for sustainable transportation, biking, and scooters!</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive Compensation Package that consists of a base salary range of $80,000 - $95,000 + Annual Performance Bonus + Equity (Stock Options) + Full Range of Benefits. </li><ul><li>Veo is a total compensation company, and pay is determined by geographic cost of labor and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training - so not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. </li><li>Our total compensation package for this role, including bonus potential, ranges from $80,000 - $100,000</li></ul><li>Unlimited PTO</li><li>Competitive Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability and more!) </li><li>401k with 3% match </li><li>Opportunity to work in a fast-paced technology company</li></ul>
