Then keep reading - you’ve come to the right place.<h2>Role Description</h2>Form Energy is hiring a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of LV and HV harness mechanical architecture for large battery systems. This role reports to the HV &amp; LV Systems Design team. As part of our team, you will lead wire harness mechanical routing, connector selection, cable specification, and 2D drawings in collaboration/partnership with mechanical and electrical teams. Relocation assistance is available. <h3>What you'll do:</h3><ul style=""><li>Develop LV &amp; HV harness design from early concept phase all the way through production, and support post production ramp up and cost down efforts for electromechanical battery systems</li><li>Lead cross functional alignment between Mechanical, Electrical, Sensor, Harness, Structural, Assembly and Supply Chain teams, perform trade off studies between function, performance, cost and DFM/DFA</li><li>Identify, evaluate, select, and procure harness components for high volume production</li><li>Create 3D routing in CAD and sync with harness tools such as Zuken to generate final assembly drawings for fabrication</li><li>Working with external suppliers and internal cross functional teams (quality, supply chain, mfg etc.) to take 3D designs to physical product for development</li><li>Design harness for harsh environmental conditions (ie high pollution degree, ingress protection etc.)</li><li>Help create Design and Quality standards for wire harnesses, specific to Form’s battery applications</li></ul><h3>What you'll bring:</h3><ul style=""><li>Minimum of 7 years of relevant harness mechanical design experience</li><li>Knowledge of battery systems, high voltage systems, EMC Strategies, and communications protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)</li><li>Proficient in Catia/NX/SolidWorks both harness and general mechanical design as well as basic mechanical and thermal simulations</li><li>Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals: thermal, vibration, durability, corrosion-prevention, materials, etc.</li><li>Demonstrated effectiveness in handling multiple priorities, proactively organizing workloads, and meeting tight delivery timelines</li><li>Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting</li><li>Preferred experience with GD&amp;T and design for high volume manufacturing</li><li>Bonus: Zuken harness design experience</li></ul> #LI-OnsiteHumanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy’s culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
