This is a varied role offering exposure across management accounting, transactional finance, and operational support. The successful candidate will thrive in a small to medium-sized business environment, enjoy autonomy, and seek a role with wide-ranging responsibilities.Key Responsibilities Management Accounts<ul><li>Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner.</li><li>Post and review key journals, including those for payroll, depreciation, intercompany transactions, foreign exchange adjustments, accruals and prepayments, and work in progress (WIP).</li><li>Support monthly performance reviews with departmental heads by providing insightful variance analysis.</li><li>Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly reporting packs for Group consolidation.</li></ul>Purchase Ledger<ul><li>Oversee the purchase ledger, ensuring all supplier invoices are processed and recorded accurately and on schedule.</li></ul>Sales Ledger<ul><li>Manage a high-value sales ledger, maintaining robust controls over billing accuracy and revenue recognition.</li></ul>Payroll<ul><li>Collate and prepare payroll data for submission to external accountants.</li><li>Liaise with payroll providers to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time for a small workforce.</li></ul>Cash &amp; Bank Management<ul><li>Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain precise cash records.</li><li>Monitor and manage cash receipts and payments to ensure effective cash flow control.</li><li>Take responsibility for the payment run process, ensuring that all payments follow appropriate controls and approval workflows.</li><li>Manage purchase order (PO) processes and authorisation workflows to support financial governance.</li></ul>Additional Responsibilities<ul><li>Contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives within the finance function and across the wider business.</li></ul> Competencies and Experience:Systems &amp; Technical Skills<ul><li>Excel – Proficient (essential; including data analysis and reporting)</li><li>Microsoft Word – Proficient</li><li>Experience with accounting systems:</li><li>Dynamics 365 (proficient)</li><li>Sage (desirable; legacy system exposure)</li></ul>Skills &amp; Experience Required<ul><li>CIMA qualified / part-qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)</li><li>Minimum of five years' accounting experience, ideally in a similar capacity</li><li>Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively</li><li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with non-finance stakeholders</li></ul>Desirable Attributes<ul><li>Experience in a group reporting environment</li><li>Exposure to multi-currency or intercompany accounting</li><li>Previous involvement in process improvements or system changes</li></ul>   </div>
