AECOM Markham is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior ETCS Engineer to join our Signals Canada team.This is a newly created role.Main Tasks and Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop detailed designs, analysis, and implementation of ETCS Level 1 and Level 2 , including onboard, wayside, central control components, with strong knowledge of LRT S&amp;TCS systems, project environment, and client and operator needs.</li><li>Analyzing project requirements at the ETCS subsystem level to provide complete and effective solutions.</li><li>Actively participating in the design phase of the ETCS engineering cycle, including requirements specification and design.</li><li>Preparing specific technical documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations.</li><li>Creating and reviewing interface specifications between ETCS, other subsystems, and rolling stock. Support the development and review of signaling design documents, including system architectures, interlocking principles, and control center integration.</li><li>Perform interface analysis and integration with CBTC, conventional signaling, and other rail systems.</li><li>Provide strong expertise in ATC system including knowledge of the wayside, track, and onboard equipment.</li><li>Produce system design deliverables such as block diagrams, riser diagrams, network diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, bill of materials, and others.</li><li>Generate design reports for all phases of system design.</li><li>Author test procedures and reports in support of design verification and validation during the project life cycle.</li><li>Produce Issued for Construction drawing and document packages.</li><li>Work closely with senior engineers, clients, and project stakeholders to ensure S&amp;TCS meet operational and safety requirements</li><li>Support and participate in the implementation phase of projects, such as installation, Testing &amp; Commissioning, Cutover, Record Drawings and final reports.</li><li>Support procurement efforts by authoring technical requirements and specifications, performing vendor bid evaluations and supporting vendor selection.</li><li>Work with Systems vendors until final delivery.</li><li>Interface with other technical disciplines such as Communication Systems, Power Supply &amp; Distribution, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, Trackwork, Civil and others; including coordination and design of S&amp;TCS interfaces, both physical and functional.</li><li>Support project efforts related to System Engineering and Assurance as an S&amp;TCS subject-matter expert including Safety Assurance, RAM, Requirements Management, V&amp;V, T&amp;C, Interface Management, O&amp;M, Cybersecurity, EMI/EMC, and others.</li><li>Assist in safety and reliability assessments, ensuring compliance with CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and relevant rail safety regulations.</li><li>Participate in system interface coordination and creation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).</li><li>Perform technical review of other team members’ designs.</li><li>Stay up to date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to ETCS and train control systems.</li></ul> <ul></ul>
