Job Description:Position Description Nextpower is seeking an experienced Sr. eBOS Engineer to lead the engineering, design, and technical execution of Electrical Balance of System (eBOS) solutions for utility-scale solar projects.This role combines technical leadership, electrical engineering expertise, customer engagement, and project execution to support the successful delivery of optimized AC and DC electrical systems. The Lead eBOS Engineer will work cross-functionally with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Field Engineering to develop technically robust, cost-effective, and scalable solutions while driving engineering best practices and continuous improvement.The ideal candidate has strong experience in utility-scale PV electrical systems, power distribution, and eBOS design, with the ability to lead multiple projects, support customers, and mentor engineering teams. Major Duties &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead the electrical engineering and design of eBOS systems for utility-scale photovoltaic projects.</li><li>Develop and optimize AC and DC electrical distribution layouts, including trunk bus systems, string harnesses, combiner boxes, disconnects, grounding systems, and related electrical infrastructure.</li><li>Lead electrical design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, customer specifications, and project requirements.</li><li>Develop and manage engineering requirements, technical deliverables, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.</li><li>Prepare and maintain engineering documentation packages, including:<ul><li>Electrical schematics</li><li>Layout drawings</li><li>BOMs</li><li>Installation drawings</li><li>Technical specifications</li><li>Test documentation</li></ul></li><li>Provide technical leadership during project execution, supporting engineering decisions from proposal through commissioning.</li><li>Work directly with customers, EPCs, developers, and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into optimized engineering solutions.</li><li>Support Sales during pre- and post-sales activities by providing technical presentations, design recommendations, and proposal support.</li><li>Drive value engineering initiatives focused on improving system performance, constructability, manufacturability, and cost reduction.</li><li>Analyze technical challenges and develop repeatable, practical, and supportable engineering solutions within project timelines.</li><li>Support product and system integration activities for new and existing eBOS solutions.</li><li>Analyze field performance and failure data, identifying corrective and preventive actions that improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.</li><li>Collaborate with Product Management, R&amp;D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to continuously improve products, documentation, engineering standards, and internal processes.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across engineering projects.</li><li>Lead multiple engineering projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and customer expectations.</li></ul> Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent.</li><li>5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, eBOS design, power distribution, or utility-scale solar projects.</li><li>Strong experience designing AC and DC electrical distribution systems, including systems operating above 1kV DC.</li><li>Experience with utility-scale PV system integration and Electrical Balance of System (eBOS).</li><li>Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong understanding of electrical drafting standards and engineering documentation.</li><li>Experience preparing engineering deliverables including drawings, BOMs, installation packages, and technical specifications.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.</li><li>Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative team player.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with wire harnesses, trunk bus systems, combiner boxes, disconnect boxes, grounding systems, and related PV eBOS products.</li><li>Experience working with EPC contractors, developers, and utility-scale solar owners.</li><li>Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and value engineering principles.</li><li>Experience supporting both project execution and technical sales activities.</li><li>Familiarity with engineering analysis tools such as FEA, thermal analysis, or electrical simulation is a plus.</li><li>Experience contributing to new product development or product improvement initiatives.</li><li>Previous experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers is preferred.</li></ul> What We Look For<ul><li>Strong technical leadership.</li><li>Customer-focused mindset.</li><li>Ownership and accountability.</li><li>Collaborative approach across global teams.</li><li>Continuous improvement mentality.</li><li>Ability to balance engineering excellence with commercial objectives.</li><li>Passion for renewable energy and innovation.</li></ul>At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
