AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Fluvial Geomorphologist for employment in Canada. This is a new position as part of our ongoing expansion of fluvial geomorphology expertise in environmental and engineering projects. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual, excited to contribute to the growth of AECOM’s fluvial geomorphology practice area across Canada.The fluvial geomorphologist will work with AECOM’s team of geomorphologists, hydraulic engineers, and ecologists to deliver a variety of stream restoration projects, including:<ul><li>Restoration of natural processes and habitat conditions</li><li>Erosion control and fish passage improvements</li><li>Assisting with hazard identification</li><li>Facilitating infrastructure improvements</li></ul>ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Utilizing scientific principles, theories, practices, and technologies to develop solutions for technical problems of limited scope</li><li>Collecting and entering data, applying technical principles and theories</li><li>Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, and comparing findings to relevant studies and local, provincial, and federal regulations to ensure compliance</li><li>Leading ‘Natural Channel Design’ and stream restoration projects, completing assessments on existing and proposed conditions to provide enhancement recommendations and design input</li><li>Conducting detailed field investigations and assessments, including sediment transport and scour analysis</li><li>Analyzing and interpreting geomorphic and hydraulic data</li><li>Writing and reviewing technical reports</li><li>Collaborating across offices and disciplines in Canada, and participating in meetings with clients and stakeholders</li></ul>
