We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.<div><h1>Responsibilities</h1><h2>Content Development</h2><ul><li>Create, organize, maintain, and reuse documentation assets using the team’s approved content repository and authoring tools (currently Microsoft Word and SharePoint), while supporting future adoption of structured authoring practices.</li><li>Conduct task analysis (TA) and prepare annotated topic lists (ATL).</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) across global regions to gather requirements and deliver project outcomes.</li><li>Develop reusable, structured technical content aligned with Xylem’s authoring guidelines, information model, and style guide.</li><li>Produce and maintain illustrations, graphics, and photo-realistic renderings.</li><li>Ensure the completion of the review cycle and software-assisted checks for grammar, style, and terminology.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Initiate translation requests and coordinate translation reviews.</li><li>Communicate release updates to stakeholders via designated channels.</li><li>Maintain reusable content and contribute to documentation standards, templates, and information architecture to improve content consistency and scalability.</li><li>Quickly learn new products, custom technologies, and engineering concepts, and accurately translate them into clear, user-focused documentation.</li><li>Contribute to the development of the CCMS structure, templates, and information model.</li><li>Create and maintain Topics, Chaptermaps, Bookmaps, and metadata within the CCMS.</li><li>Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to support collaboration with stakeholders across different time zones, as business needs require.</li><li>Work effectively in a hybrid work environment while maintaining strong communication, collaboration, and accountability.</li><li>Participate in initiatives to enhance documentation quality, workflow efficiency, and content governance.</li></ul><h1>Required Qualifications</h1><h2>Education</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Aeronautical, Computer Science, or equivalent field).</li></ul><h2>Experience</h2><ul><li>3–6 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer (Senior level) in an international, English-language environment.</li><li>Proven expertise in developing reusable technical documentation using structured or unstructured authoring approaches. Experience with DITA XML and single-sourcing practices is an advantage but not required.</li><li>Basic experience creating technical illustrations in vector or raster formats.</li><li>Experience documenting software, hardware, or custom-engineered solutions, with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies.</li></ul><h1>Skills and Competencies</h1><h2>Core Skills</h2><ul><li>Excellent command of written and spoken English.</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.</li><li>Detail-oriented, structured, and dependable in meeting deadlines.</li><li>Effective communicator with global, cross-functional teams.</li><li>Familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE) and style guides such as the Microsoft or Chicago Manual of Style.</li><li>Understanding of DDLC, SDLC, and Agile workflows.</li><li>Knowledge of single sourcing, metadata management, and conditional profiling.</li><li>Ability to quickly learn new technologies, understand engineering customizations, and evaluate their impact on the end-user experience.</li><li>Experience reusing and maintaining content from shared repositories while ensuring consistency and accuracy.</li></ul><h2>Technical Skills</h2><ul><li>Proficiency in authoring MS Word.</li><li>Experience using Microsoft SharePoint or similar content repositories for document management and content reuse.</li><li>Experience with terminology and content quality tools such as Acrolinx.</li><li>Proficiency with illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Creo Illustrate, KeyShot).</li><li>Experience with collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.</li><li>Understanding of content publishing pipelines and localization workflows.</li><li>Experience with structured authoring concepts is preferred. Familiarity with DITA XML, CCMS platforms (such as Astoria On-Demand or AEM), and XML editors (such as Oxygen XML Editor or Arbortext Editor) is an advantage.</li><li>Working knowledge of XML-based formats and related technologies (XQuery, metadata tagging).</li><li>Interest in GenAI and automation using Python or similar programming languages is desirable.</li></ul><h1>Assessment Process</h1><ul><li>Candidates will complete a writing and structuring test to demonstrate technical English and content organization skills.</li><li>Successful candidates will advance to subsequent interview rounds with technical and hiring teams.</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
