At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.As the Inventory Accountant you’ll…<ul><li>Be the first Inventory Accountant hired to the team, and help establish foundational internal processes.</li><li>Complete operational accounting and reporting, including detailed analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of accounts.</li><li>Own the accounting and reconciliation of inventory movements, including receipts, production consumption, transfers, returns, scrap, inventory adjustments, and cycle count variances.</li><li>Partner directly with Contract Manufacturers and suppliers to investigate inventory discrepancies, validate transactions, and ensure alignment between physical inventory and ERP records.</li><li>Review and support landed cost accounting.</li><li>Track and reconcile inventory balances by part / SKU on a monthly basis.</li><li>Support inventory accuracy and reporting initiatives through regular reconciliation of raw materials, components, subassemblies, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. </li><li>Collaborate with the Controller and Operations teams to improve efficiency of internal processes.</li><li>Establish monthly unit economics analysis, including P&amp;L impact of different components of unit economics.</li><li>Assist with forecasting of unit economics changes, translating these changes to financial impact.</li><li>Working with the Controller and Operations, enhancement or creation of internal controls around manufacturing, fulfillment, and deployment.</li><li>Assist with financial statement audits.</li><li>Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.</li></ul>Ideally you’ll have…<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting, or related majors including business. </li><li>4+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, inventory control, and previous experience with month-end close.</li><li>Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)</li><li>Hands-on experience managing physical inventory transactions involving raw materials, purchased components, subassemblies, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods.</li><li>Professional working level English (B2 or higher.) </li><li>Experience working with Contract Manufacturers is strongly preferred.</li><li>ERP experience required (NetSuite preferred). Strong knowledge of manufacturing inventory transactions is more important than experience with a specific ERP platform.</li><li>Experience reconciling inventory records between internal ERP systems and third-party manufacturers.</li><li>Strong understanding of manufacturing inventory flows, material movements, and inventory valuation.</li><li>Experience supporting inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation activities.</li><li>High level of attention to detail and experience in financial accounting and financial reporting.</li><li>Experience working in a high-growth, dynamic environment.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.</li></ul>
