Working primarily from our Brooklyn office across a portfolio of active builds, you own the flow of information on the job: the submittal and RFI pipeline, the project logs and records, meeting minutes, and the scheduling of inspections. You keep information and coordination moving so the field never waits on the office.</p><p>Reporting to the Construction Manager, you screen incoming submittals and RFIs, route each to the right reviewer, chase it to closure, and keep every log and archive current. You represent Orenda on site on an event-driven basis, going out to witness inspections and acceptance tests, capture as-built documentation and photos, and coordinate with AHJs and Con Edison. Keep the logs for submittals, RFIs, change orders, drawings and transmittals, equipment, and permits accurate and current.</li><li><strong>Own the project record:</strong> Keep the records and archives (AHJ correspondence, insurance, legal, contracts) organized and the document system current and authoritative.</li><li><strong>Drive inspections to completion:</strong> Line up and sequence AHJ inspections (FDNY, DOB, DEP, Con Edison) and required special inspections, and prepare the site and documentation so they clear on the first attempt.</li><li><strong>Be the Owner's representative on site:</strong> Oversee inspections and acceptance tests, witness and document the work. Represent Orenda with trades, AHJs, and Con Edison.</li><li><strong>Run the project cadence:</strong> Capture decisions and action items in the construction meeting minutes, and keep the project directory and participant matrix current.</li><li><strong>Be the Construction Manager's force multiplier:</strong> Surface issues early with the context to act on them, and take on more of the project as you grow into it.</li><li><strong>Champion safety:</strong> Reinforce Orenda's safety expectations on every site visit, call out hazards on the spot, and help drive every site toward zero recordable incidents.</li></ul><h1><strong>Requirements</strong></h1><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on construction experience.</li><li>Background in construction project coordination, engineering, document control, or a comparable role, with the organization and drive to own a project's information flow.</li><li>Strong organization and written-communication skills, with the discipline to own logs, trackers, and documentation.</li><li>Ability to read construction drawings and specifications well enough to screen submittals and verify field conditions.</li><li>Proficiency with, or fast aptitude for, construction project management software and modern productivity and AI tools.</li><li>Willingness to travel to active NYC-area sites.</li></ul><h1><strong>Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)</strong></h1><ul><li>Exposure to Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or broader renewable energy or electrical infrastructure projects.</li><li>Familiarity with NYC agencies (DOB, FDNY, DEP) and Con Edison processes.</li><li>Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward a PE license.</li><li>Experience with submittal/RFI workflows in platforms such as Procore or Kahua.</li></ul><h1><strong>Skills and Attributes</strong></h1><ul><li>Exceptionally organized and process-driven, able to keep several fast-moving projects and their documentation straight at once without dropping balls.</li><li>Clear, prompt written communicator who produces concise minutes, transmittals, and status updates.</li><li>Good judgment about what to handle directly versus what to route or escalate, and a habit of surfacing problems early.</li><li>Professional and credible representing Orenda on site with trades, AHJs, and Con Edison.</li><li>Eager to learn the contractual, commercial, and technical sides of the work.</li><li>Positive, solutions-oriented, with a strong work ethic.</li><li>Comfortable reaching for modern software, data, and AI tools to work more efficiently, and quick to learn new ones.</li></ul><h1><strong>Work Environment</strong></h1><p>This is a full-time, in-office position based at Orenda's headquarters in Brooklyn, NY.
