Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, engineering, and execution of hydropower and pumped storage projects. The role involves detailed design and coordination of electro-mechanical (E&amp;M) systems including turbines, generators, balance of plant (BOP), and associated electrical and mechanical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed designs for electro-mechanical systems in hydropower and pumped storage projects<ul><li>Prepare specifications, design calculations, and technical drawings for:<ul><li>Turbines (Francis, Pelton, Kaplan, reversible pump-turbines)</li><li>Generators and excitation systems</li><li>Transformers, switchgear, and protection systems</li><li>Balance of plant systems (cooling water, drainage, compressed air, HVAC)</li></ul></li><li>Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project requirements</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate between mechanical and electrical disciplines for integrated system design</li><li>Ensure compatibility between turbine-generator systems and grid requirements</li><li>Support interface management between civil, hydro-mechanical, and E&amp;M components</li><li>Prepare technical reports, design basis documents, BOQs, and tender specifications</li></ul><ul><li>Support preparation of bid documents and technical evaluations</li><li>Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, ISO, etc.)</li><li>Provide engineering support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning</li></ul><ul><li>Review FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests)</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting and performance optimization</li><li>Interact with OEMs, consultants, and contractors</li></ul><ul><li>Evaluate vendor proposals and participate in technical negotiations</li><li>Coordinate with project management teams to ensure timely delivery</li></ul>Key Skills<ul><li>Knowledge of hydropower technologies and pumped storage schemes</li><li>Understanding of power systems, protection schemes, and grid integration</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications</li><li>Good communication and coordination skills</li><li>Experience with reversible pump-turbines and variable speed machines</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of transient analysis, load flow, and stability studies</li><li>Familiarity with SCADA and control systems</li></ul>Experience working on international projects
