Responsible for a budget spend of £40M. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies</li><li>Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness</li><li>Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms</li><li>Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation</li><li>Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power</li><li>Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking</li><li>Assess, manage and mitigate risks</li><li>Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers</li><li>Determine quantity and timing of deliveries</li><li>Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand</li><li>Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and improve margin</li><li>Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs, maintaining those levels</li><li>Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses</li><li>Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards</li><li>Assist in developing more effective invoicing and collecting processes</li></ul>Personal Specification:As a minimum we are seeking candidates with a CIPS Level 5 who have had at least 3 years’ experience managing a procurement team.  Ideal candidates will be comfortable managing a team whilst also having responsibility for a key commodity within the procurement team.
