The Role We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team on an interim basis. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment runs, while supporting the wider finance function with reconciliations and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly add value by maintaining strong financial controls and building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Key responsibilities: <ul><li>Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.  </li></ul><ul><li>Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are approved and paid in line with agreed terms.  </li></ul><ul><li>Prepare and support weekly and monthly payment runs.  </li></ul><ul><li>Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.  </li></ul><ul><li>Resolve supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.  </li></ul><ul><li>Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions.  </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain accurate vendor records within the finance system.  </li></ul><ul><li>Support month-end close activities, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.  </li></ul><ul><li>Assist with audit requests and financial compliance requirements.  </li></ul><ul><li>Monitor aged creditors and provide reporting to the Finance leadership team.  </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.  </li></ul><ul><li>Support the wider Finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects as required. </li></ul>Ideally, you’ll have/be:  <ul><li>Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role.  </li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and controls.  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar.  </li></ul><ul><li>Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.  </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.  </li></ul><ul><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.  </li></ul><ul><li>Good communication and stakeholder management skills.  </li></ul><ul><li>A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in a fast-paced SME or international business environment is desirable. </li></ul>About ONYX  ONYX Insight is a growing technology and engineering organisation in the renewable energy sector.
