The Carbon Leadership Forum is seeking a dynamic and innovative problem solver to fill the role of Operations Senior Associate. This role will be responsible for financial administration and bookkeeping, HR operations, and other miscellaneous business administration. The Operations Senior Associate will report to the Executive Director. This is a remote position based out of the United States.<h2>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</h2>50% Financial administration and bookkeeping<ul><li>Pay and monitor business expenses</li><li>Manage software subscriptions and other recurring costs</li><li>Process reimbursements</li><li>Send invoices and manage accounts payable</li><li>Coordinate with CLF’s accountant</li><li>Support payroll processing</li></ul>30% Business Administration<ul><li>Monitor and field messages from CLF general email accounts</li><li>Manage legal/business filings</li></ul>20% HR operations<ul><li>Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews and other HR operations</li><li>Help plan and organize in-person events, such as bi-annual staff retreats</li><li>Coordinate with HR consultants</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience</li><li>Working knowledge of tasks outlined in the job description</li><li>Strong experience using Gmail and Google sheets, docs and slides</li><li>Experience independently finding solutions for business needs relevant to this role</li><li>Strong communication skills (verbal and written)</li><li>Strong organizational and prioritization skills needed to manage business operations</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li></ul>Desired – Education, work experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in environmental studies, human resources, communications, business or other fields relevant to the role and CLF’s mission</li><li>Professional or educational experience with climate action initiatives</li><li>Experience leading diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives</li><li>Experience as an executive assistant in a nonprofit organization</li><li>Experience reviewing contracts and other legal documents</li><li>Basic web development skills</li></ul><h2>Pay and Benefits</h2>This is a part-time non-exempt role for 20 hours/week. The Carbon Leadership Forum accelerates the transformation of the building sector to dramatically reduce the embodied carbon of buildings and infrastructure — i.e., the greenhouse gas emissions from making, transporting, installing, maintaining, and disposing of construction materials. We improve data, inform policy, and engage and empower key leaders to take action.Cement and steel are responsible for roughly 15% of global energy-related GHG emissions. And buildings and infrastructure are significant end users of these and other industrial materials: the construction sector is responsible for consuming nearly all cement and roughly 52% of steel produced across the world. CLF helps drive industrial decarbonization by steering demand towards increasingly lower-carbon construction practices across all materials and construction typologies. We promote designing efficiently with low embodied carbon materials while reducing emissions from installing, maintaining, and disposing them across their lifecycle.
