Develop your Engineering Geologist &amp; Geotechnical Engineering career by building your technical, project, site experience, consulting skills and experience as part of AECOM’s Melbourne Geotechnical Engineering and Tunnelling (GET) Team. You will have the opportunity of working on a wide range of projects primarily on client sites working with contractors and drilling teams, across infrastructure, transportation, water, dams, buildings, energy and environment sectors, delivering solutions for clients throughout the State, as well as throughout Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.In this role, you will support the delivery of geotechnical investigations including extensive time on site, completing analysis, and design solutions as part of a collaborative and high-performing team of engineers, engineering geologists, and technical specialists.  This position offers both hands-on fieldwork and technical office-based work. The role will involve a significant field component, including the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations across a variety of sites, with opportunities for travel. As your experience develops, you will become increasingly involved in technical interpretation, geotechnical analysis, design input, and technical reporting, supporting projects from investigation through to design and construction.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on site, understanding ground conditions, and turning field data into practical engineering solutions, while continuing to develop their technical expertise within a supportive team environment.How you’ll make a difference<ul><li>Preparing desktop studies, including data review, interpretation, and development of technical documentation.</li><li>Planning, coordinating, and undertaking geotechnical investigations on client sites, including drilling supervision, sampling, and in-situ testing.</li><li>Competence in soil profiling and rock core logging in accordance with AS 1726:2017 Geotechnical Site Investigation standard.</li><li>Collecting and managing soil and rock samples and coordinating laboratory testing programs.</li><li>Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines, and safety procedures.</li><li>Preparing associated factual and interpretive reports.</li><li>Assisting with geotechnical analyses for foundations, slope stability, pavement designs, earthworks and other structures.</li><li>Assisting in the preparation of bids and proposals, including scope development and preliminary cost estimation.</li></ul>
