As a fully competent engineer, the Design role involves applying well-established expertise to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional mentoring of less experienced engineers. The Design Engineer contributes to product performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Energize your day by contributing to the following responsibilities:<ul> <li> Independently design and develop transformers and related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.</li> <li> Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.</li> <li> Perform detailed failure analysis on design-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.</li> <li> Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production.</li> <li> Participate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.</li> <li> Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.</li> <li> Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.</li> <li> Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.</li> <li> Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>We are looking for: <ul> <li> Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li> More than 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on transformer or related product design.</li> <li> Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including mechanical and thermal analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, FEA).</li> <li> Ability to interact with, maintain, and update ERP system data related to engineering processes.</li> <li> Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers and related components.</li> <li> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.</li> <li> Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.</li> <li> Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.</li> <li> Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues.</li></ul>  Does this spark your interest? <ul> <li>A permanent position with real opportunities for advancement </li></ul><ul> <li>An RRSP/DPSP </li></ul><ul> <li>100% employer-paid group insurance </li></ul><ul> <li>An employee assistance program </li></ul><ul> <li>A referral program </li></ul><ul> <li>On-site parking </li></ul><ul> <li>Company events </li></ul><ul> <li>Flexibility, projects, and lots of teamwork </li></ul><ul> <li>But above all, a friendly atmosphere and lots of fun at work! </li></ul> The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. To transform your career, join our energy! We look forward to receiving your application! <h2>Job Locations</h2>CA-ON-Mississauga
