We are seeking a Principal Engineer-BESS (Renewables) to join our Energy team in India. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful Energy projects across global offices and continue developing their technical expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.<ul><li>Lead electrical design for BESS and renewable projects (FEED, detailed design, assurance).</li><li>Design the BESS balance of plant (BOP) systems.</li><li>Develop grid connection solutions (11kV–400kV) for energy storage and renewables.</li><li>Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver innovative solutions.</li><li>Work on large projects and frameworks with renewable energy generation developers, mostly in UK and Ireland but also with some global projects.</li><li>Undertake Front End Engineering Design (FEED), design for planning, feasibility studies etc. of energy storage systems including associated grid connections, control and metering.</li><li>Support the team with bidding, project and quality management.</li></ul>Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?Here’s what we’re looking for:<ul><li>Previous experience with consultancy, contractor, equipment manufacturer or electrical utility in the energy sector. Suitable experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner’s engineer role.</li><li>A good understanding of both renewable generation and energy storage technology in general and, in particular, battery storage technology of all types and chemistries.</li><li>Experience designing the MV or HV grid connection, metering, control requirements etc. associated with battery storage installations, including BESS collocated with renewable energy generation.</li><li>Knowledge of grid connection requirements for renewable generation and energy storage, including G99, G100 and grid code requirements for transmission connected assets.</li><li>Good understanding of electrical plant items and control systems such as transformers, cables, circuit breakers, HV Protection &amp; Control.</li><li>Good team player with a client-focused mindset and customer facing skills.</li><li>Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.</li></ul>
