Working under supervision for all assigned tasks, this role is responsible for executing established laboratory procedures per written SOPs and TCMs, accurate sample handling and data entry, basic instrument operation, and adherence to all chemical safety and documentation standards. This role develops foundational proficiency in analytical methods, laboratory information systems, and lab safety while building toward independent operation. Shifts: B shift - Sunday -Tuesday 5 pm - 5 am, alternating Wednesdays  C shift - Sunday-Tuesday 5 am - 5 pm, alternating WednesdayResponsibilities will include: <ul><li>Prepares samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.  </li><li>Assists with and performs routine chemical, metrological, and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.  </li><li>Maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including troubleshooting and performing verifications.  </li><li>Works in a production environment, sampling and testing physical characteristics.  </li><li>Performs additional duties as required, including lab organization, inventory, safety audits, and special projects.  </li><li>Works effectively in both team and individual environments. </li></ul>Desired Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in science or related field or 2+ years of related experience.  </li><li>Experience in laboratory settings, quality settings, or chemical production facilities.   </li><li>Experience in typical laboratory practices including waste handling, safe work practices, data entry and management, good documentation practices and experimental setup and execution.  </li><li>Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to lab coats and respirators.  </li><li>Experience with relevant test methods such as ICP-OES, auto-titration, X-Ray Fluorescence, Total Organic Carbon, etc.   </li><li>Experience with sample prep and analysis, chemical handling and laboratory hazards.  </li><li>Demonstrates ability to perform basic chemistry math and calculations.  </li><li>Adept with data acquisition and analysis tools including Laboratory Information Management Systems and Microsoft Office.  </li><li>Excellent written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills  </li><li>Excellent attitude: understands priorities change with company needs and willing to work to ensure deadlines are met. Ability to execute with a calm and collaborative urgency.  </li><li>Ability to regularly lift 35 lbs.  </li><li>Use of a step ladder   </li><li>Sit and or stand for long periods of time, greater than 2 hours  </li><li>A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!  </li></ul><div>The position is full-time.
