Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) — The Nature Conservancy &amp; other NGOs in Climate Part-time contractor engagement | Recruited via Mycela The Role TNC is looking for Entrepreneurs in Residence to embed part-time (roughly 20–30 hrs/week) with internal teams tackling high-impact, ambiguous problems — from carbon market equity to community-based conservation programs. EIRs bring startup-honed execution instincts to organizations with deep domain expertise but limited bandwidth to move fast. This is a fixed-term engagement (typically several months), and we often see contracts extended or move EIRs onto follow-on engagements elsewhere. What You'll Do<ul><li>Embed with an NGO Partner team (The Nature Conservancy in this case) as a player-coach: diagnose what's blocking progress, then roll up your sleeves to help build the solution</li><li>Bring outside perspective and "productive restlessness" while respecting the pace, trust dynamics, and on-the-ground realities of the communities</li><li>Define success metrics where none exist yet, and drive toward a concrete deliverable within the engagement window</li></ul>What We're Looking For<ul><li>A non-linear career path — varied roles across sectors or functions, not necessarily a straight climb</li><li>Demonstrated execution orientation: a track record of shipping, not just advising (outcome language over consulting-speak)</li><li>Operating experience in emerging markets</li><li>Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build trust quickly with subject-matter experts who've been closer to the problem for years</li><li>Founder or startup experience is a plus, but not necessary </li></ul>Logistics<ul><li>Part-time, contractor basis</li><li>Remote-friendly</li><li>Engagement length and start date vary by cohort/role</li></ul>

The operator shows up 15–30 hours a week for 8–24 weeks and builds the financial models, delivery systems, and operational infrastructure that turn proven science into something investable and scalable. At the end of an engagement, the operator can convert to a long-term hire.This solves a people problem. The teams we work with don't lack ideas, evidence, or ambition. They lack the operational and entrepreneurial capacity to move from a working pilot to a scalable organization. Mycela fills that gap — and in filling it, helps teams pressure-test their own assumptions about what their model needs to look like at scale.
