We are about Building Energy Performance.</div>Summary/Primary Role:The Vice President of Sales Engineering will lead the technical and commercial sales engineering strategy for Brightcore’s commercial HVAC and energy-efficiency solutions. This individual will serve as the critical link between Brightcore’s Business Development leaders, mechanical engineering partners, HVAC manufacturers, contractors, and customers. The ideal candidate combines deep technical HVAC expertise with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships, achieve significant revenue goals, and close complex opportunities. This leader must be credible in discussions with mechanical engineers and capable of advancing opportunities from initial customer engagement through contract execution. The Vice President of Sales Engineering will initially supplement and support Brightcore’s Vice Presidents of Business Development while helping strengthen and expand the company’s HVAC sales capabilities.Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities:(Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time)<ul><li>Lead Brightcore’s sales engineering strategy for commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, and energy-efficiency solutions.</li><li>Partner with Vice Presidents of Business Development to identify, develop, and close complex HVAC opportunities.</li><li>Serve as Brightcore’s senior technical sales authority during customer meetings, engineering discussions, presentations, and contract negotiations.</li><li>Maintain ownership and momentum throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring opportunities progress from initial engagement through contract execution.</li><li>Engage confidently with mechanical engineers, consulting firms, building owners, developers, contractors, manufacturers, and other technical stakeholders.</li><li>Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate HVAC equipment, system configurations, and energy-efficient solutions.</li><li>Lead the development of technical and commercial proposals that communicate system performance, financial value, operational benefits, and Brightcore’s competitive advantages.</li><li>Establish and maintain strategic relationships with HVAC manufacturers, manufacturer representatives, engineering firms, contractors, and key industry partners.</li><li>Leverage industry relationships and market knowledge to identify new customers, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.</li><li>Lead technical presentations, system-selection discussions, proposal reviews, and customer negotiations.</li><li>Collaborate with Engineering, Estimating, Operations, and Project Management to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, financially viable, and executable.</li><li>Oversee the transition of signed opportunities from the sales process to project execution.</li><li>Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to inform Brightcore’s commercial HVAC growth strategy.</li><li>Represent Brightcore at customer meetings, industry events, manufacturer trainings, and professional networking opportunities.</li><li>Help develop the structure, processes, and long-term capabilities of Brightcore’s sales engineering function.</li><li>Provide executive-level leadership and technical direction for commercial HVAC sales opportunities.</li><li>Establish sales engineering standards, processes, performance expectations, and revenue goals.</li><li>All other duties and projects as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of commercial HVAC sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, or business-development experience.</li><li>Leadership experience within a major HVAC equipment manufacturer, manufacturer’s representative, or comparable commercial HVAC organization strongly preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated success developing and closing complex, high-value commercial HVAC opportunities.</li><li>Advanced technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, system design, and energy-efficient applications.</li><li>Ability to communicate confidently and credibly with mechanical engineers and other highly technical stakeholders.</li><li>Established relationships within the HVAC manufacturing, engineering, construction, and building-owner communities strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience with manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, Bosch, WaterFurnace, Marley Company, or similar organizations is highly desirable.</li><li>Exceptional leadership, presentation, negotiation, relationship-management, and closing skills.</li><li>Ability to translate technical HVAC concepts into clear commercial and financial value propositions.</li><li>Strong strategic judgment with the ability to remain closely involved in day-to-day sales execution.</li><li>Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Ability to travel to customer sites, meetings, and industry events as required.</li></ul>Supervisory Responsibility: <ul><li>This position may have supervisory responsibility.</li></ul>Expected Hours of Work &amp; Compensation: An employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to complement the base salary.
