The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This is a 2:1 FIFO role based in Karratha that rotates through Perth.You will oversee and manage daily on-site civil construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards within budget and schedule for Hitachi, Ltd.  Key accountabilities:<ul><li>Supervise and coordinate all civil works on site, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, drainage, and paving.</li><li>Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and Hitachi policies on site.</li><li>Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project timelines.</li><li>Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.</li><li>Manage and direct site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.</li><li>Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, resource utilization, and any deviations.</li><li>Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and equipment on site.</li><li>Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.</li><li>Assist in the resolution of technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.  </li></ul>Required skills and knowledge:<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction supervision, preferably in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.</li><li>Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant local building codes and regulations.</li><li>Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures and best practices.</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project schedules.</li><li>Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites.</li><li>Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.</li></ul>At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
