Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and management systems.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Philippine safety, health, and environmental laws, regulations, and client requirements.</li><li>Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation.</li><li>Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and the implementation of appropriate control measures.</li><li>Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective and preventive action programs.</li><li>Plan and conduct HSE audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring activities.</li><li>Manage emergency preparedness programs, response plans, and emergency drills.</li><li>Promote a positive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, coaching, and leadership engagement.</li><li>Monitor and report HSE performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.</li><li>Manage consultant, contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements and safety standards.</li><li>Ensure environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.</li><li>Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders on HSE matters.</li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop HSE personnel to support organizational safety and environmental objectives.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve zero harm, reduce risks, and enhance overall HSE performance.</li><li>Support project and operational teams in maintaining safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplaces.</li></ul>Key Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.</li><li>Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Practitioner and/or Safety Consultant.</li><li>Completion of the mandatory 40-Hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training.</li><li>Strong knowledge of local regulatory requirements and international HSE standards.</li><li>Experience managing HSE requirements for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.</li><li>Familiarity with OSHA, ISO standards, and local construction safety regulations.</li><li>Membership in recognized HSE professional organizations is preferred.</li><li>Willing to accept Project-based status</li></ul>About SMEC For 75 years, SMEC has built a reputation as a trusted partner on major transport and energy infrastructure projects around the world.
