<h2>Overview</h2><p>The Manufacturing Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity within a distribution transformer manufacturing facility. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to meet quality standards and production objectives. Process engineering will be imperative to this role’s success. The ideal candidate will combine a strong technical foundation with innovative problem-solving skills to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing environment.</p><p> </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for the production of distribution transformers, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.</li> <li>Design and implement process engineering projects, including the selection and setup of machinery, equipment layout, and workflow optimization.</li> <li>Conduct process simulations and modeling to predict production issues and identify solutions.</li> <li>Implement quality control processes, monitor compliance with quality standards, and initiate continuous improvement projects to meet and exceed industry standards.</li> <li>Conduct time studies to accurately measure work processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.</li> <li>Perform cost analysis on manufacturing processes to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency gains.</li> <li>Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and finance teams to develop cost models for products and processes.</li> <li>Analyze production specifications and capacity data to manage workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting production targets.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&amp;D, Quality, Production) to integrate new products or changes into the manufacturing process.</li> <li>Contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.</li> <li>Develop and maintain detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).</li> <li>Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential process risks and implement preventive measures.</li> <li>Support and facilitate the commissioning and decommissioning of production lines and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.</li> <li>Provide technical training and support to production staff and operators, enhancing their understanding of process engineering principles.</li> <li>Investigate production problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.</li> <li>Stay abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and process engineering techniques applicable to transformer manufacturing.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards in all process engineering activities.</li> <li>Support the budgeting process, providing cost estimates for process engineering projects and equipment.</li> <li>Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source equipment and materials, ensuring specifications and quality requirements are met.</li> <li>Evaluate production data to assess the effectiveness of process improvements and make data-driven recommendations for further enhancements.</li></ul><p> </p><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li>Minimum of 3 years of related experience with proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer, preferably in the distribution transformer or related manufacturing industry.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in implementing process improvement projects and lean manufacturing principles.</li> <li>Experience with CAD software for equipment layout and process design.</li> <li>Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant process improvement methodologies is a plus.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.</li> <li>Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.</li></ul><p> </p><h2>Job Locations</h2>US-TN-Dyersburg
