The Region Engineer serves as the single point of contact for outage and mis-operation support associated with substation, relay, balance of station, and line equipment. This function provides the second level of technical support beyond the field crews and C&amp;M Supervisors. The Region Engineer serves as the conduit between C&amp;M, Veg Maintenance, Engineering, and Asset Management to provide expertise as deemed necessary. The Lead Region Engineer will provide additional leadership support for special investigations, assignments and initiatives.</p><p></p><p>Region Engineer support will interface with the following organizations, as a minimum: Craft Workforce (Maintenance and Construction);Work Management; Transmission Engineering (P&amp;C, Substation, and Line;)ECC/DCC personnel; Asset Management (System Standards, Asset Strategy and Analytics, HRM and Fault Lab, and Data Management, );Transmission Planning; Project Management ;Generation Plant PTAC and System Engineers (Nuclear &amp; RRE;)Account Managers for external customers (e.g., industrial, Electric Municipalities Corporations);Distribution.</p><p></p><h2><b>Responsibilities </b></h2><p><br><b>Primary roles and responsibilities of the Region Engineer include:</b></p><ul><li>Serves as point of contact for outages and equipment mis-operations</li><li>Leads or participates in Root Cause Investigations (i.e., RCA, ACA, BCA)</li><li>Provides outage analysis, documentation, and follow-up.</li><li>Provides input on project scope and collaborates with project teams on Transmission construction projects.</li><li>Provides equipment troubleshooting and problem resolution. (Includes unique equipment such as SVC, UG)</li><li>Represent Duke Energy as technical expert for escalated customer outage and service quality issues. (e.g., power quality, reliability, and capacity).</li><li>Serves as technical point of contact with regional distribution engineering for contingency load planning, emergencies, and outages</li><li>Supports plant outages or specific plant projects by serving as plant interface for PGO</li><li>Assists Asset Management in the evaluation of performance and reliability of Transmission assets in assigned region.
